Baring in mind the importance Hughton attaches to a players character and fitting into the team ethos you'd have to assume that if we are still interested in him, or were ever seriously interested in him, then his attitude is probably fine and the stink you mention could well be coming from that 'gut feeling' you're having.

Maybe we’ve agreed a deal with AZ, but we’ve offered them Tau on loan as a little sweetener.

We get Iranian Al
AZ get a ready made replacement
AZ get their money to strengthen their squad
Tau gets to play in a stronger league than he’s used to
Tau takes a big step towards his work permit

The Dutch league is pretty well known as being a good way to obtain a work permit, it’s one of the reasons why Chelsea loan so many players to Vietesse. It’s almost certainly not what’s happening but it’s wortb a thought
