Estate Agent bullshit description

Interesting to note that some (all?) of these online bods charge whether they sell the property or not

You're clearly in the house, why not take as many photos as possible?!

This is a particular bug bear of mine. They're almost always ridiculously half-arsed. You can get a pretty decent camera for not very much these days, how hard is it to get a few decent photos?

To be fair, you would expect them to do the best they can to sell a house otherwise they get no fee. It might have been the fridge was the cleanest thing in the house!!!!!

The last couple of house sales I've had have been helped by the estate agent but like any industry there will be those that are crap.

I would suggest that the days of 1%+ for agents' fees are certainly numbered.

I saw a propertyadvert last week which said something along the lines of "The buyer will be required to pay a £1300 introduction fee on completion" so some of them are trying to recoup reduced seller's fees by fleecing the buyer.

1-2 reasonable? How do you feel about 6-7%? This is what I just paid as a buyer!

Happening to me at the moment, buyer pays the fee of 1.6% +VAT so I just took that of my offer. The only winner is the estate agent

Used the same agent for over 30 years with various moves,more than happy with the service and he is Albion ticket holder to boot! Sometimes i just pop in to talk footie :thumbsup:

I'm in the process of moving, completion is this Friday. We negotiated a flat fee for the sale which works out less than 1%. No fee paid to the agents we're buying through. Happy with both sets of agents.

I could say exactly the same about the utterly ridiculous prices you lot pay for property. You might pay 13% taxes and fee when buying but boy do you get a hell of a lot more for your euro. And the fizz I bought to celebrate my purchase was noticeably cheaper as well :wink:
