And who was visiting this place ten years earlier? The Guardian Article states that he was there in 1977. The beginning of the Cold War, when Vaclav Havel was locked up by the Czech authorities, was Corbyn negotiating his release? We had only just started visiting Spain on package holidays n 1977, East Germany and Czechoslovakia would not have been high on many peoples radar as a holiday destination then. Hard tofollow your arguement.

Yes he has. He has been an activist in fighting against discrimination, inequality and injustice. He's principled and passionate, angry yet empathic. Isn't that the kind of person we need leading the country?

What was on the cutting, microdots, indelible ink or whatever may have been passable prior to the high tech computer age in which we live.

I wasn't aware 1977 was the beginning of the cold war, I always had that down as Berlin 1948 and all that. Package holidays started far earlier than 1977 too - my parents holidayed in Spain in the 1960's (Or perhaps they were spies for the Generalissimo?)

Personally though I couldn't give a **** who went on holiday where and when - I know you desperately want Jeremy Corbyn to be a spy - shame for you it's all a load of hysterical bollox.

The Stasi had files on anyone in the West receiving mail from the East, and anyone travelling there would have come to their attention, particularly as with vouchers etc they would have been so easily identifiable. As to whether he spied for them -you can bet your life that if your brother had been in a sensitive position with access to commercial or military secrets, then he would have been a target. Also by 1989 the days of the Stasi were numbered. The travel restrictions you mention were clearly lifted by then, as in 1990 we drove all round the former DDR, and were one of the first British tourists to look round Colditz after the overthrow of communism. I can even now see the deep shafts containing hundreds of old Red Cross packages still lying about. The contrast with the West was truly staggering and DDR was considered to be the "wealthiest" of the East Bloc. What must the others have looked like? Seeing East German families shopping in the West at that time, pushing each other to get to bananas, fruit juice and nappies is something that I will never forget.

I'll wait a while, time will tell what he did or didn't do, for you these articles and a four day turnaround for a response from him is adequate. He denied attending the funerals of IRA terrorists and then was prooven to have had a selective memory on the subject, he has form in denials that have subsequently been incorrect. For those on the fringes of voting for him its probably just another reason not to vote for him next time. 2017 is the best he will ever get, its already starting to wane.

Jeremy Corbyn is to continue his long-standing policy of engagement with groups that murder MPs by inviting Britain First to Westminster for dialogue.

The Labour leader has a long record of putting aside personal feelings in the aftermath of murderous attacks on MPs and hopes to achieve as much, if not more, as his inviting the IRA to dinner at Westminster two weeks after the Brighton bomb in 1984.

Corbyn, who described Britain First as his ‘friends’, said it was important to share a platform with marginalised groups who feel disenfranchised and resort to violence.

When asked, Corbyn refused to denounce the group, saying it was vital for progressives in politics to reach out and not simply react.

“Feelings are high and emotions are raw in the aftermath of terrorist attacks, and we know that,” said a spokesman for Corbyn’s office.

“But they were when we invited the IRA to Westminster a fortnight after they murdered Conservative MP Anthony Berry, so we hope people understand how important this is and show the same tolerance and acceptance of our engagement with these groups.

“Jeremy has always been proud to stand by groups who say they fight for freedom and aren’t afraid to get their hands bloody in support of the cause, and there’s really no difference here.”

No, Just waited for Corbyns response to come down hard on the press and send out a video to news stations and papers. Not a tweet, a video so that he cannot be challenged or asked questions. he's still not answered any questions on his meetings with the so called spies and his reaction to close down the freedom of the press, because he doesn't like what they are reporting appears to be very Stalinist to me and not at all with his muted oposition to such regimes. Jeremy doesn't react well under pressure, does he.
