Quarter Final 3 sees the defending champion back in action. Let's have a nice clean contest everybody. Game on...

Orca - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killer_whale
4th in Group A with 14 votes
2nd Round - beat the Black Swallower with 53 votes
Total votes to date - 67
Orca.jpg
While the Orca had a slow start it should be noted that it took down the Mantis Shrimp in the group stage and finished off a stiff challenge from the Black Swallower in the second round. Having seen off its ocean based brethren the Orca now has its first challenge against a land based foe. And what a foe. The Orca has performed well so far, tying with the Hippo for votes cast in the second round. The Orca is the consummate hunter and often works in packs. Although mainly a hunter of seals and sea lions it is also prepared to take on actual whales, sharks, rays, dugongs, sea turtles and more. In a formidable display of 'hard' the Orca is given to playing with its prey before dispatching it. They are known to batter their prey in head on collisions or will toss seals into the air using their tail fins. Working in pods of up to 40 they can corral their quarry. A brutal creature with street smarts will always be tough to beat.

Honey Badger - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honey_badger
Winner of Group C with 21 votes
2nd Round - beat the Great White Shark with 88 votes
Total votes to date - 109
Honey Badger.jpg
Scarcely needing any introduction, the Honey Badger has probably been the subject of more WHC discussion than any other creature in recent years. Loved by its admirers for its sheer bloody mindedness and indefatigability yet loathed by its detractors, who consider it little more than a cuddly toy. The Honey Badger has begun its title defence very well indeed, catering to victory in the group stage and comfortably beating the Great White Shark despite the fact that shark beat every other competitor in the second round. While any opponent of the Honey Badger is almost guaranteed a good vote, the mischievous champ has shown itself more than capable of seeing off challengers thus far. Having finally lifted the trophy in 2017, the Honey Badger will not let it go without a serious fight. Tough and ferocious, the HB will attack anything when cornered, including entire packs of lions. Most of the fierce predators ranging the Honey Badger's territory choose not to hunt it down, as it is tireless and wears down its attackers. Its loose skin allows it to turn even when bitten, allowing it to counter attack. The Honey Badger's skin is incredibly tough meaning it will happily take on porcupines and shrug off snakebites. Allied to its fierceness is an acute intelligence. The Honey Badger has problem solving skills and can use tools. Having seen off one of the great ocean fighters in the last round the Honey Badger will need to repeat the trick in order to reach the semis.

Voted for Orca. Fat lot of good its going to do though. Too many people have got into their heads that this badger is super-hard, and nothing is going to shake them of this belief.

Orca aint that much either though. I miss the shark :(

I don't want to see HB walk away with it again, but based on the match up, the Orca is just a bully that hunts things smaller than itself.

I’m astonished that some people (you know who you are) are voting purely on the basis of the opportunity the presence of a large fish affords for them to crack a cheap joke!

...and the Orca comes tearing back at the Honey Badger, who is looking a little wobbly on his feet. This tie is very much on.

They’re smart, they use brains and brawn, they hunt and kill Great White Sharks and Tiger Sharks for kicks as well as whales. The Orca is the only logical choice

It's a bit repetitive with the same clicks voting for the same things.
The point of hardness is what creature as a human would you hate to be in a cage or enclosed space with:lolol:

I can safely say I'd happily sit or walk around a enclosure or cage if it was a honey badger in there.
What creature is likely to kill you quickly ?

An interesting new take on hardness there, if a slightly human-centric one. To be added to the numerous other ways in which hard can be defined.

It's the final day of voting everybody. Have your say. Tell us who you think is hard and, more importantly, what exactly is hard anyway. The defending champion remains in the lead but this is still too close to call.

An Orca victory could hardly be called a surprised but it would certainly ruffle some feathers... not that there are any of those in this tie.
