Why would Flint want to swap one Championship club for an (elect) other?

Our downwards momentum over the last few months, might not make a move to Sussex so enticing for players with several options.

Adding to the challenges of a January window for buying clubs.

For 3 and a bit months. Is it worth it, if he can pick from PL clubs in the summer should Bristol City not go up?

It's being so cheerful that keeps you going.

If he gains Premeir League experience and does well, but we go down, then we can sell him for a profit after the new "mega bucks" TV deal is announced in a few monthe time (when transfer fees rocket further).

Lacking debating skills there, no surprise.

The same points I made are mentioned in this article by a Sky Sports hack:

Why join a club in the relegation mix, when he can be a PL player in the summer any way?

The best odds you can currently get on us going down is 8/5, which gives an implied probability of 61.54% of us staying up.

The Best odds on Bristol City getting promotion is 3/1, which implies a 75% chance of them remaining in the Championship next season.

If the lad has any sense he would jump at the chance of a move as soon as possible.

You've left out option 3 for Flint - a PL club buys him this summer. Based on his performances, including 2 outstanding games against the world's best, he'll be in demand. I can see the likes of Burnley, Wolves, Palace being keen. Us, if we get lucky and stay up.

Or, if we are living in a fantasy world of ifs, option 4 where he gets an injury and misses the chance to sign for a premier league club altogether and the opportunity never comes around again.

Your argument is based on the hypothesis that we will get relegated. I would argue that the odds are on our side and I still have faith that we will stay up. There is probably no point debating the point further and time will tell who is correct.

Maybe. But he's 28 and has zero resale value so will only end up at a crap PL club battling relegation next season instead.

No it isn't. It's in the balance whether we'll go down or not. I don't think we're down.

Just saying that if Flint waits a short period, he'll know in what division he'll be playing for all of 2018/19.
