Isn't The Apprentice filmed months in advance, so in theory the winner is already known by a chosen few?
There are places you can bet on this.
I'd love to know the timescale of when it was filmed and how long it actually is between tasks?

Was it at the fag-end of last season they were trying to flog those shitty sweets at the Amex ? I dunno what game they turned up at, but it must've been April / May as it looked warm and sunny down the seafront.

I'm fairly sure it was actually for the Middlesbrough beam back, they had some special sweets on the West concourse for that and the quantity bought would suggest they weren't stocking the whole stadium.
This series has been awful so far in my opinion, the tasks have become so convoluted that there's an enormous amount of work to do and only a few hours in which to do it. The teams are set up to fail in every task, and the show now is about who makes the smallest foul ups rather than being an opportunity for good business. The series with Yasmina and the chap who didn't go to Eton feels like a long old time ago now.

I couldn't agree more. It seems they have taken the talent out of the show and brought in idiots that appeal to the wider audience. If I was in the boardroom and had done something so incredulously wrong I'd hold my hands up. I think that says more about a person than watching them swear blind they weren't in the wrong. But it doesn't make great TV to admit it. The Apprentice of 10 years ago and The Apprentice now are totally different animals. As the network works out what sells they pander to the ratings.
You do realize that The Apprentice is a light-entertainment television show, rather than a formal business recruitment exercise? What would you expect them to do!?

I think you may be a little incorrect. Many of those that have won the Apprentice have made strides in the business world. I just get the feeling it isn't about that any more.

Its NEVER been about that.
People are not drafted into that show because of their business acumen - they are brought in because of their astonishing levels of twattery, and the potential levels of abject buffoonery they will bring to our screens, for our entertainment. Do you seriously think Lord Sugar would waste his time on the neverending procession of shambolic GOONS put in front of him if he was actually genuinely after a "business partner", or someone to invest in ?
as [MENTION=3566]hans kraay fan club[/MENTION] says, its just a light entertainment show of the point-and-laugh variety. Nothing more, nothing less.

I'm sure Lord Sugar has recruited many successful businessmen and women into his business over the years - but certainly not via this BBC freakshow. He didn't become a multi-millionaire by being an idiot.

Tom Pellereau, and Joseph Valente would disagree with that.
Other people who don't win also get investment although not from Alan Sugar. The lady from Plymouth, who had her own hairdressing business, got through to the final with Joseph last year, and didn't win. She did, however, get investment from another source, through being on the show.
Yes, a lot of it is for entertainment value, but one candidate does get £250K for their business.

Well they get their names 'out there' I suppose. I even saw an ex-Apprentice contestant (not winner) the other night on one of those talking heads clip shows, so there's certainly money to be made in this z-list celeb culture we now cultivate. I daresay some of them will crop up on Big Brother soon, or in the Jungle, if they haven't already.

They aren't going into his business now. The format changed a few years ago. He invests £250K in their business and takes a share of their profits.
His own fee from the production company is donated to Great Ormond Street hospital.

I am watching Live for the first time this series. I'm hoping for better than the series so far, these people look like wastes of space.
