With the results going to form last night but Newcastle & Huddersfield both facing tricky games upto Easter what are the permutations of possibly both being promoted and winning the Championship on the 17th against Bristol City?

Do you mean Brighton to NOT be promoted and on 17th April, following our dismal display against lowly Bristol City allowing Newc & Udders go up?
Well that's easy. After a run of 5 straight defeats our maximum is 86 with a win at Villa last game.
Therefore Newc need only four more points from 18 and Udders need 13 from 21
Reading & Leeds are still in if the target is 87
That is the cold facts, truth is that even here Udders can only drop 8 pts in a run in that includes of 6 hard games in 3 weeks.

Perhaps you could be a little bit clearer as to what you mean.

It seems from what you've written the two teams (both) are Newcastle and Huddersfield but I don't think you mean that as Bristol City is mentioned.

He's asking what has to happen for BHA to be crowned Champions at the Bristol game, or to have promotion confirmed there.

I think

Hi sorry for the confusion. For Brighton to get promoted and win the championship on the 17th, both achievements on the same day

Pretty much impossible... We'd have to be 10 points ahead of Newcastle, and 13 ahead of Huddersfield/chasing pack... Meaning they'd all have to lose pretty much all their games and us win them all for that to happen... not happening

is now a good time to point out that its Wigan on the 17th and Bristol City on the 29th?!

Very good point, add to my other point, and not only is it impossible to be promoted on the 17th unless all other teams lose except us, but it is 100% impossible for us to be promoted and win the title against Bristol City on the 17th April, as we don't play them :lolol:

Impossible to be champions
Maximum points 17/4 = 92
Minimum points Newc 84 + possible 9 pts from remaining 3 games = 93

Possible to be promoted
Maximum points 17/4 = 92
Would need:
HTFC to get less than 3 pts from their next 2 games = max pts 91
Reading to not win 1 of their next 3 = max points = 89

Edit: Reading could not catch us if we get 92 pts by 17/4
