Does anyone have a genuine complaint...

We need to keep things in perspective but in my opinion this squad needs to step up and Hyypia needsto play to the teams strengths or go - he doesn't want to be here.
I know Sami doesn't look like he is interested but are you suggesting you know that he doesn't want to be here?

A question really .... If we were to be relegated would this have a knock-on effect with the sponsors IE Amex ... would the money we receive diminish or is it ring fenced to saveguard against relegation ?

Albion Dan;6632342 The management decisions around the playing squad since Oscar left are borderline negligent and relegation could be an absolute disaster for the long term future finances and fan base of the club. Of course If we could win some matches we wouldn't be complaining and if my Aunt had balls she'd be my Uncle. Unfortunately neither is true.[/QUOTE said:
With due respect (and yes I have had a drink so I may be reading it wrongly!) but............isnt what you have put above all very "speaking the bloody obvious"? (with exception to your Aunt and Uncles possible issues)

The kid that sits in the seat in front of me is an annoying little tapeworm who wants his head stoved in.

Other than that I'm all good.

When we played Cardiff and Watford, despite both ending in draws, the performances were encouraging. In both games we were unlucky not to come away with maximum points.

The disappointment is how badly we have played since then which has led many to believe that all is not well in Camp Sami. For me the worst part of this malaise seems to be the lack of urgency and fight in the team in the last two home matches. We look a scared outfit sometimes which smacks of lack of self-confidence i.e. no one really knowing what to do.

I hope that this is only a temporary problem, I really do, and that better displays are round the corner. At present I am not convinced.

I don't think we played badly at Huddersfield. We weren't great but the game was there to win in the final 15-20 minutes and we were a tad unlucky not to manage that.

Sorry, I should have stated the matches that I watched. Away to Huddersfield was not one of them, and you're right I believe that we finished stronger in that game. Which makes it even more frustrating when we turn in lacklustre performances at home.

Yep every time I walk past the away end at Bout 1.15pm many away fans are sitting outside with the doors locked. Why?

Let the feckers in and start spending some money!

Unless they've locked themselves out because of the prices.....

...that doesn't boil down to "Boo hoo - we're not winning as many games as I've become accustomed to"?

I'm not sure I've read much, if anything at all, that people would be moaning about if 3 or 4 of the draws had been wins.

Anyone? Honestly?

No. Mediocre start to the season, could go either way.

Bozza, a genuine complaint? It's more of a concern really. That concern is growing by the week and can be summarised by the poll on how many NSC users think Hyypia is the right man for the job. When I looked it was one in ten. That's hardly a ringing endorsement and the percentage has dipped significantly after the Rotherham game. I think most people on here were probably willing to give him the games against Huddersfield and Rotherham to get the team playing better and to get a minimum of four points and a little space away from the relegation zone. He's not achieved that and the way that the team virtually folded after the Rotherham equaliser was a real worry.
So the concern is that unless the Board take action we are in real danger of being relegated, and that would result in some significant financial implications.
The immediate action needs to be to get an experienced manager in place who can turn that situation around. He needs time to assess the team and see what we need in way of a couple of players that will help improve results. He needs to communicate that information to David Burke and Sir Tony needs to dip into the budget again to get them. They can't wait too long to do this as the January transfer deadline isn't too far away.
All the talk of commercialisation etc will reduce if we start winning a few games. What would also be nice to see is a manager who has the ability to inspire as a competency. We heard all about how Paul Barber and the board took so long in their selection process to get the right man to replace Garcia and frankly they then found someone who was less inspiring than Oscar, which was quite hard to do!
What I see now is a team whose confidence slips away rapidly when things go against them and this is because Hyypia doesn't fill them with confidence. He simply slates them in public which is something Garcia never did.
The board have to hold up their hands and admit a mistake. It's not easy to do when the mistake is so obvious in hindsight but this time there can be no finger pointing like when Oscar's departure took place.
So I think that's probably a genuine concern, or complaint if you want, and I would be very happy to go to the Board myself and articulate that to them.

I do, the expensive shirt I bough my little brother for his birthday is faulty. Marvel at the sponsor panel peeling off to reveal another sponsor panel.

Other than rare instances, like the Archer/Belotti years or the leeds ownership, what common complaints in football can't be boiled down to "we're not winning enough"? Does it make the complaints less valid? The manager is paid to manage a team to get wins, players are paid to play well enough to get wins. When you're not winning as frequently, they will be criticised.

Of course people wouldn't be moaning about some things if we had won more games.

This is like an extension of the discussion I had with Mellotron on a match thread recently (Cardiff, I believe). Results change the context of the games' actions. Errant shots that are wasted possession in games we draw or lose become cheeky 'everyone wants to get in on the act' pot shots if we're winning, goalkeeping errors that cost us two points become goal keeping errors that cost us a clean sheet as we romp to victory and so on.

There is plenty to be concerned with: non scoring strikers, at least one or two defensive cock-ups a game often costing us points, that we are one place outside the relegation zone and performances of late make it seem like we deserve to be there, increasing costs, the worrying trend of decreasing crowds in response to onfield failings and how this will continue in a negative feedback loop as income drops with decreasing attendance, etc.

This 'you wouldn't be complaining if we were winning' is both redundant, and a cynical way to attempt to undermine people who dare express concern with what has actually happened, rather than a hypothetical reversal of reality.

With regard to the OP, does he think the fans of former Premier clubs Brum, Bolton and Blackpool aren't complaining just as much, if not more?

I think too many fans were quick to criticise Oscar, but at least he could organise a team. I've never seen a team go into half-time having just scored come out and start a second half so badly.
