Albion and Leeds United have played out two of the best matches the Amex has seen in its two-and-a-half-year existence.
The Yorkshire club last visited the south coast back in November 2012, *when an enthralling contest finished 2-2. Craig Mackail-Smith, who has proven a thorn in Leeds’ side over the past two years, grabbed a brace but the spoils were shared in front of the Sky Sports cameras.
Just a year earlier the two sides played out another thrilling contest, once again on a Friday night in front of the Sky cameras. The match ended 3-3 with the Seagulls fighting back from two down to put themselves ahead at 3-2, and once again Mackail-Smith bagged a brace. However, Ross McCormack’s dramatic 90th minute equaliser ensured Leeds didn’t go home empty handed.

Mackail-Smith has enjoyed a fruitful spell in front of goal against Leeds
Prior to the two goalfests at the Amex the 2009 encounter saw Leeds leave with all the points following a comfortable 3-0 win, while a year earlier United also took the spoils in a 2-0 win.
Leeds tasted another success when Tresor Kandol struck the winner in a 1-0 win in 2007 but the Yorkshire club didn't always enjoyed their trips to Albion’s former home. Their first two visits ending in 1-0 and 2-1 defeats respectively.
The sides’ first meeting back in 1960 was at the Goldstone, where Albion came out on top in a 2-1 victory, and in fact it took until 1985 for Leeds to claim their first win on Brighton’s turf.
