I SO nearly left after Hazard was escorted safely through our defence by Goldson, before he slotted under no pressure into the bottom corner for 0-3 but caught myself because it was actually a decent game of football.

Couple of middle-aged w*nkstains in N1G made a big showboating headshaking display of leaving after the second goal went in. That's right, they left after SIX minutes of the game. Ladies and gentlemen of NSC, I present to you a new Amex RECORD!

what has poor old Shirley got to do with it

I saw some people today wearing clothes I don't like. Shall I start a thread on this?

No. That would be pathetic.

Still, we will never see again those wonderful days when the Goldson was full of 32,000 PROPPER Albion fans, all of whom stayed till the 93rd minute to clap the team off, even after we lost 8-2 to Bristol Rovers.

FFS.

Are we getting Connor Goldson and the Goldstone Ground mixed up ?

I'd like to apologise on behalf of my parents who left at 84 minutes when it was 3-0. Normally I go with them and keep them pinned to their seats til we've clapped the players off, but this time they were free to choose to not queue for the trains. Again, sincere apologies

If they left on 84 minutes they'd have faced an ALMIGHTY queue for the trains

I left after the final whistle and there was a TERRIBLE queue for the trains. Next time, I'm going to go to Lewes and come back, although I haven't yet determined at which point in the queue this becomes a viable option. Anyone done any academic research on this subject?

Easily a record. I have never been so far back in the train queue. In fact we were about twice as far back as usual. Normally join around where the slope starts, this time we were way back past even the "No alcohol beyond this point" garb on the floor.

At least you could enjoy what was left of your drink without having to neck it then !!!

Q didn't appear to go down 1 / 2 and 4 pints later either.

God knows what the issue was.

Could hazard a guess though.

Not academic - but anecdotal - research. I live in Lewes but often get the train to Brighton after the game to see friends. I reckon on average, its a longer wait to go east. So, I wouldn't bother if I were you.

Are you sure those who 'left' on 6 minutes weren't going to the concourse for a pint and to watch on the TV screens for a bit?

I can beat even that - last season at the Norwich match I was sitting there ready for kick off and left 2 minutes later before the game had even started!

I had just got a phone call saying my mother had died, and I know I should have stayed for the whole game to appease everyone, but I left - I know, bad fan.

Thanks. I must say that I'm surprised by this, but am happy to go along with it. My usual methodology involves waiting until the final whistle, giving a quick round of applause, then sprinting all the way down to the platform. However, as each year passes, it's getting a little more uncomfortable and my children will soon be refusing to join in the fun. I need to move closer to Brighton.

Those who left early should be hanging their heads in shame. It is expected of everyone to remain behind and clap like demented seals, irrespective of the performance. The players expect it and want it. They crave your support at the end. Without it, their week ahead is empty and worthless. A few whoops go down well, as well as a few...." well played " After the final player has left the arena, you are expected to drag your limp body out, in a fashion which suggests that you are leaving very reluctantly and would rather spend all night there.
Those that fail to carry this out, should forfeit their ST's and pass them on to someone who is prepared to commit to the cause. Maybe early leavers could be photographed and then named and shamed in a sort of ' rogues gallery ' and have to wear a sticker to all future games saying ' part time fan '.
