4th May 1982 we beat Wolves to complete the double over them. I don’t think we did the double over anyone in the 82/83 season.

Are Chelsea the only team currently in the Premiership that we've never beaten in a league game? That would make them the most unlikely side for us to do the double against...

A bit leftfield.
When Albion were in the Championships, we did the double over then, PL Newcastle twice, over two years in the FACup.

27th Jan 2012 Albion 1-0 Newcastle
5th Jan 2013 Albion 2-0 Newcastle

Believe it or not, the last time we were in the top flight, we didn't meet Chelsea once.

Wolves - we always did the double over them in the first division! The last time we did it was in 1981-82, and helped send them down. Something of an own goal for us - the next season, without our regular six easy points from Wolves we didn't stand a chance, and down we went ourselves!
If we still look like getting six points a season off Wet Sham in 2020-21 perhaps we'd better give 'em a break!

Which is part of the reason why they're the only team (that we've played) that we've never beaten in the league. Oh well, next year, eh?

Even trickier one I forgot to ask after we beat Boro in the cup:

Had we ever done the double over a manager managing 2 different teams in a season before this? (Beat Pulis while managing West Brom and Middlesbrough). Be amazed if anyone can recall another season where that's occurred!

Yes. But I've only established the answer after wondering to do with the next hour I had spare.

15/09/2015 Rotherham United (H) 2-1- left 28/09/2015
29/02/2016 Leeds United (H) 4-0- appointed 19/10/2015, left at the end of the season.

Albion beat Steve Cotterill's Portsmouth (away) in August 2011 and then his Forest side (home) in December 2011. In 2014-15 we beat Gary Rowett's Burton Albion in the League Cup in September and his Birmingham side in the league in February.

On the other side of the coin, Lee Clark did the double over the Albion in 2014-15 when his Birmingham side beat us in August and his Blackpool side beat us in January.
