I'm pretty sure that was FKS' collections in the early 1970s.

Ah, Peter Suddaby, what a player he was. We had a pretty decent team when you think about it.

Made a massive difference when he joined the Albion defence. I can't help think a lot of the club's troubles on the pitch in 1980/81 came because we lost him.

My first foray into sticker collecting was the Merlin 1995 premier league album: http://www.footballstickipedia.com/merlins-premier-league-95-sticker-collection.html

I remember having a massive (a good 4inches...yes, that's big to me :( ) stack of doubles and spending ages with my mates in school swapping them. Shinys were always worth two regulars.

I used to have a bit of a problem...they were 25p a pack and i'd happily buy them in batches of 20 in order to complete my album....never managed it :(

As The Wookiee has mentioned, Brighton did feature on the cover one year...

Can anybody remember the cost per packet back in the late '70's early '80's ?

I vaguely remember 5p a packet for 6 stickers or might of been 5 ?

Always waited for the shoot magazine issued early jan that gave the album away free and a packet of stickers get you started.

I also remember in the early days, you did not always get a badge in each packet ?

Many happy days collecting these stickers, it also taught me the name of every ground, a clubs nickname, their highest attendance and the capacity of every ground and bizarrely that Ray Clemence was born in Skegness !
