Profit squad ... the post match interview

It's not always. Most races aren't suitable for dutching for a start - there'd be a loss all round. Today there was only one that some would consider, for example, but ultimately I'd be surprised if anyone got on it.

Typically the best races will be 8 or 9 horses (so 3 places are paid) and with a very short priced favourite. You then essentially analyse the odds to determine whether it is worthwhile or not, placing each way bets on every horse and, generally, covering win only bet(s) on the favourite(s). You will then have a degree of freedom as to how to adjust your potential returns - try to ensure a profit all round, although a small one if the favourite wins, or sacrifice that for a shot at greater returns if an outsider comes in.

Then you place your bets. Where bookies are offering the same leading prices, you would probably try and place with those offering BOG or BOG+ or other offers such as the regular 365 4/1+ winner or faller insurance and take any bonuses that you happen upon.

Another tactic I discovered completely by accident relates to very small 3 or 4 horse fields. Often you can back all horses for win only with different bookies for either break even or a very small loss. I do this sometimes just to be seen to be placing non-offer bets - "mug punting", but it can also pay dividends. Due to BOG I've backed a 3 horse field before, one horse drifted markedly but then won. I made about £300 on the race.

Thanks. Sounds like a bit of time to invest.

On the other side of the coin, I've just made a major blunder. I was using my £25 free bet from the Ladbrokes offer yesterday (money back as a free bet if Man U v Liverpool is a draw, which was itself a good result) and bet it on a race at Ayr at 11-1. I then laid the wrong horse, similar odds and that bloody one won. £225 error :(

It happens.

I was mug punting on the FA Cup, again just to be seen to be betting where there were no offers. I backed Chelsea, Peterborough and the draw all with different bookies for break even.

Later that night I was checking my accounts and something didn't add up. Turns out I'd baked Liverpool by mistake, instead of Chelsea, but did back Peterborough and the Chelsea/Peterborough draw. It would have been OK if 1.14 shots Liverpool had beaten Plymouth but they didn't of course. Bye bye £250.

As as aside, as good as that Ladbrokes offer was in hindsight, I couldn't find anything with a suitably small quantifying loss so I wasn't involved in it. Best QL was about £4-5 from what I recall, on the HT/FT market.

I was on Man U Man U HT/FT. I laid it off on Smarkets. Don't know if you have used them, but the 2% commission and often different prices to Betfair can make all the difference. It cost me exactly £2 to lay this off and I should have made a £20 profit from the free bet, so 10-1 on the draw is clearly profitable.

Smarkets great for the big games, but if you wanna lay off early in the 3pm at Plumpton tomorrow, forget it!

Happens the other way round too! I was trying to empty my Betway account to reduce it to zero and boost my Betfair a/c. I had completed about half the wagering before I could withdraw and had £124 from Middlesborough stupidly drawing with Watford. Was watching the Chelsea game on TV and saw Betway were offering odds of 2.7 for Chelsea to win with them already 2-0 up! Bloody hell I thought, thats pretty much guaranteed so I lumped the whole £124 on at those odds. I then realised I had mistakenly lumped it all on a strange bet for Chelsea to effectively win the game from that point on i.e They had to score more goals than Leicester and win that portion of the match! I also realised I couldn't lay it off either or at least I couldn't figure out how to in such a short timeframe! I had to let it ride and fortunately Chelsea scored again and the bet won - A nice return of £334 and no lay bet to pay out plus the wagering was complete so I could withdraw every penny! Kerching and a nice curry and beers treat was had to celebrate!

Ben, in the tutorials, the first few videos are with three big bookies, what if you already have accounts with them? do you just do the same but with other bookies that have new customer offers and just work your way through them?

Each of the recommended NCO's have a written walk through but in general all have more or less the same process depending on what the offer is.

It's recommended to do the matched betting tutorial whether you have those 3 bookies already or not. We cover the basics and explain what we're trying to do in these 3 videos. They're not too long, so I'd recommend you give them a watch, and then proceed to the Sports list and pick the next one on the list you don't have. There's around 45 in total that can generate a risk-free profit, so there should be plenty to choose from. Each one has its own video tutorial showing how we make a profit, so all you have to do is repeat the same steps. But the matched betting tutorial will cover some of the basics you need to understand before you start.

Let me know if you need any more help! Though if you email support@profitsquad.co.uk or use the forum, you will likely get a faster response than here as we don't monitor this page religiously (though we are trying!)

I'm 6 weeks in and so far up around £600 on new customer offers and a bit on bingo / casino. Tried my first EW dutch race on Saturday but both favorites won so made -£1 loss, now trying a few accas to try and get the refunds. Once the season is over I'll be trying to get into more ITV races and do more ducthing at weekends.

About £15k up, but I've not really done much in April mainly because it being the Easter holidays with the kids.

I do intend to put a "Matched Betting school" for NSCers together because, as I've said before, I fully appreciate that if something looks too good to be true it probably is. Not so here, I can assure you. If I can help people pay for their Premier League season ticket or maybe earn enough to take their family on a holiday they'd otherwise miss out on, then it would be great to be able to do that.

If you want to get started though, I do heartily recommend the £1 Profit Squad trial, which will teach you the basics, get you earning your first profits and set you on the path to make this a pretty decent side income for as long as you want it to be.

CLICK HERE TO GET GOING or drop me a PM and I'll let you know when I'm in a position to help coach you along a bit.

Wish you would! For those of us whose betting knowledge begins and ends with an each way bet on the Grand National and who haven't a clue about anything on this thread so far. Also, need to have a very good briefing to overcome my normal reaction to anything I see on the internet - "If it looks too good to be true, it probably is too good to be true!"

So true.
For all these in profit, more are losing :)

Matched Betting isn't gambling in the conventional sense. At any one time you're only risking a pound or two because the process involves simultaneously backing and laying the same outcome in order to attempt to earn a free bet which can be readily converted into cash.

That would be a great idea.

I've just starting MB up again, 2 hours a day pays for food, rent and drinks here.
Absolutely perfect way to be comfortable in Brazil.

Personally, I've only tackled the new account offers, some reloads and the odd promotion I get sent to my inbox.

I've not even looked at the horses yet as that seems a little complicated and I think I need to dedicate a good amount of time to learn it all.

Yes, I'm here suggesting people get taken in by a scam. I've got a long history in doing this. Well done on seeing through it.

Wow quick response. i did n't think you were scamming just amazed at the comments and the amounts being won and no one saying they had lost.

how much do you need to know about betting to turn this into a profitable sideline as i know FA.

Nothing.

The Profit Squad training videos will help you through how this works, but the process is broadly doing this:

1. Bet on something with a bookmaker on an event that offers a free bet or a refund or some sort of extra.
2. Lay that off with an exchange such as Betfair. Typically you'll take on a small loss for doing this.
3. Get a free bet.
4. Back and lay that free bet to convert it to cash. Typically you can extract about 75% of the value of the free bet as cash.

Example (although this goes off the standard process above slightly):

1. I have backed Newcastle to win for £1000 @ 1.36 tonight with WH.
2. I've actually backed the draw with another bookmaker.
3. ...and a Preston win with another bookmaker.

I actually make a small profit regardless of the outcome, but that's not why I'm doing it. I'm doing it because I want there to be 4 or more goals in the game.

If Newcastle win and there are 4 or more goals in the game (any combination will do, eg, 3-1, 3-2, 4-0 etc) then I will receive a free bet equal to 25% of my winnings. My winnings will be £360 ((£1000 * 1.36) - £1000) so I will receive a free bet for £90. I'll be able to convert that into cash of £65-70 which is profit and mine to take away.

Here's a copy and paste from one of the Profit Squad community members who I've known from the site for the last 6 months or so. She knew nothing about sport nor gambling before she started this:

So I have made it to my 1 year profit squad anniversary! What a year. I certainly didn’t expect it to be this good. I thought sharing my figures and experience may help motivate people, particularly those just starting out like I was this time last year. When I started I needed a lot of motivation and confidence as I felt out of my depth and doubted myself frequently. Profit squad has helped me every step of the way.

I have made just over £35,000 to date. Initially it was new customer offers and ongoing reloads etc but it progressed onto more advantaged strategies such as dutching and advanced casino offers. I have had a few bumps in the road, sometimes through silly errors or rushing in and other times through a streak of losses, but those times have been brief and always taught me something . Every month I keep a tab of profits AND losses. It keeps me grounded and focused. I learn by my mistakes and get encouraged by great results, so profit squad as a community as well as a go to for training has been brilliant.

Casino offers and dutching have brought in my biggest wins, with the smaller but more consistent payouts from regular sports offers topping the total up. The key to all of this is to stick with it because it can and will make you money. I still have things to learn and I know there is a lot more money to be made!

Marketing/promotion based arbitrage.
I don't have the bank roll to start but yes, it works.
I have time on my hands, have a procedural approach to matters and arithmetic skills that would make Stephen Hawking stand up and applaud.
To make it worthwhile I need £1,000 seed capital for the exchange bet exposure.
I can't see any reason why I wouldn't be able to return £2,000 to the investor after 3 months trading (gambling).
Anyone willing to take a punt?
