Quite. All those defending the oaf... 'excessive punishment for a one-off while drunk' excuse.... Imagine if he had ploughed his car into your kids while pissed. AND done it on purpose....scale it back to twitter abuse, and being banned for life from a football ground is right and proper punishment.
Next....
Anyone saying he should only be banned for a year, remember some of our fans are banned for 3 years I believe for what happened in France last year when attacked by Russian madmen.
One lad was also banned for over celebrating a goal at Lincoln in the FA Cup, jumped over the wall or similar, didn't actually go onto the pitch.

Luke McCormick did just that, he not only is allowed inside football grounds, he plays the game professionally.

After serving four years of his seven year prison sentence. He is earning a living.
Derby have the right to say who can come in, and who can't. They don't want to be associated with a vicious spiteful fool.

Selective libertarian. The internet coward sneered in type at folk grieving the loss of a tiny one. Laws might cover this, but separately decent people running DCFC decided that they didn't want this character on their property. That's all.
The troll has at all times remained free to insult whoever he wants, to his own moral code. But he should be prepared to face the consequences if his targets get hurt or organisations he's involved with don't want to be associated with him any more.

That's very emotive language. Drunk driver yes, child killer sounds more like a murderer. Yes, he got drunk, and got into his car, but he didn't set out to kill children. Would it have been ok if he'd killed old people?
He's done his time, been punished & is now back in society working.

I firmly believe that if you knowingly drive a car while drunk you should be charged with attempted murder, or murder if you kill as he did.

Yes of course the story will be old news tomorrow. His name won't be though which was the point I was making. Granted no one will remember it (I've forgotten already....Jordan something) but if you are an employer and you google Jordan Whatever you'll get umpteen stories from "reputable" news sources about him acting like a bellend.
Not saying he doesn't deserve that but he isn't the first football fan to say something in bad taste, massively out of order or damn right ****ing awful. The scousers and the mancs have been digging each other out for years about Munich and Hillsborough respectively. Closer to home I recall the north stand singing about Harry Roberts and the Palace fan that got run over at Villa Park. I'm sure there are quite a few on here who joined in with those songs. Unlike those days the internet is less forgiving because it's all documented down to an individual level.

Yes let him back after 5, 10 or whatever years, but introduce him back to the crowd in the ground, maybe he could stand in the centre circle whilst everyone demonstrates how glad they are that he's back.

What about people who drive at excessive speed and have no ability to control what happens e.g. 60 in a 30 mph limit. I think the point you have raised is very valid but legally could be a nightmare i.e. are you 'drunk' at 1% over the legal limit?

Regards the ban of the fan, DCFC have done the right thing IMO based on what I understand was said. If the 'fan' can show genuine remorse and some action which proves this then he could approach the club and say he is a changed man and might be able to go back , say in a season's time.
