So Brentford bought him from Rochdale where he scored 17 times in 33 games.

If we had bought him, he would disappear for six months and everyone would be saying "What has happened to Hogan?" Why are our purchases from lower divisions generally disappointing?

Cant see Brentford's chairman be willing to sell him to us for anything less than an astronomical fee.

Clever player. Knew he had the pace against our right hand side of defence especially with Bruno pushing on. Think he would of had a harder time against CG as he would have been a lot closer to Hogan for both goals as he is a lot quicker than Duffy.

Not read all of this thread but he reminds me of Charlie Austin. Having said that Bruno to blame for being sucked in on more than one occasion.

Hogan is right footed and scored two with his left foot which was unexpected. We able to stop him when he took that extra second to transfer to shoot with his right.

Kayal is also right footed, and failed to even pull the trigger when he had a one-on-one with their keeper, preferring to attempt to shoot with his right. About a minute later, Hogan didn't take that extra second to shoot with his right, and scored with his left.

If we'd bought him everyone would be moaning that he was injury-prone and never going to be worth keeping long term. He's got a great scoring ratio but has made the sum total of EIGHT league starts in 3 seasons.

The thing is he scored 17 goals in 33 games for Rochdale in League TWO before joining Brentford.

When you put that into the NSC new-signing algorithm this is the equivalent of only scoring 7.2 goals in 33 games or a goal ration of 1 in every 4.58 games.

This place would go MENTAL for signing a player with that sort of ratio.

If he stays fit you will have clubs scrambling for him.

Agree with that.

But Bruno with all his experience, shouldn't have pushed so far forward from the first minute, exposing out of sorts Duffy. It was painful to watch from the ESU, being exactly in line with our defence for the first half. Wreckless pushing forward by Bruno at every period of Albion possession when the game was 0-0 when Hogan was such a threat, was naive by Bruno.

Exactly, about what I was saying. Scored two left footers again today. Looks a genuine talent and better than Andre Gray when he started for Brentford. Player to watch.

Already he caused more trouble at the Amex than any other player in the League bar none. If it wasn't for good defending he could have scored four.
