Sheffield United went down on goal difference. I think most people would say that was "nearly."

It's still nearly. Like how I'm nearly The Pope. i.e. I'm not, and Palace DID go down.

Shame really, I cant dislike Warnock that much hes a bit of a character! was so hoping for Mr Neil"(ive managed a big club)" Lennon or the equally revolting Mr Billy "(outta my depth)"Davis to get the job, much easier to enjoy their misery each weekend!

Watching the palace fans on ssn trying to put a good spin on it.

-He's gonna help us sort it out
-what needs sorting
-well, we didn't have a manager and now we do

(in fairness, that one was a kid but it made me chuckle)

Surely Puncheon is the only real negative - and cynical old me suspects there might even be a touching reconciliation here in the next few days.

Warnock is a good manager - sure, not a remarkable survival specialist like Pulis, but still one who tends to get the best out of players

Giving a young, up and coming, English manager, with a proven Premier league record a chance, I hope he does very well for them, and I'm sure he will.

Nope, , couldn't write that without laughing

Well I predicted last season Palace would stay up and I thought they would again until the Pulis incedent.

What I have learnt over the last few years is, the more we laugh at Palace the better they do, they still make **** ups and there is plenty to laugh at, however they somehow come out on top.

although this time i am not sure that they will, the squads already pretty weak, punchon slagged off Warnock big time a few months back, as far to say he thought Warnock was bent, so already one of Palaces more creative players is going to be a little unhappy. a scrappy season ahead for Palace and hopefully one full of relegation, but I wont be condeming them yet.

I think there have been a lot of threads that come back to bite the original poster, and it's always amusing when it happens. (For the record, a poll shortly after Pulis was appointed showed almost two thirds of posters on here thought he at least had a chance of keeping palace up http://www.northstandchat.com/showthread.php?290619-Will-Pulis-keep-Palace-in-the-Premier-League)

However, I find it interesting that in the face of this appointment, your response is "oh look at how bad you are at predicting things" rather than "look at his record, look at his achievements he is a very good appointment" in the way people did with Pulis's appointment.

The point is ...

So Pulis, who has never been relegated, is replaced by Warnock who has never kept a team in the Premiership. Sounds like a plan.
