You seem obsessed by the fact that the police and/or the stewards didn't go into the south stand and remove the supporters with the bangers and flares. Do you think it is possible that the police and/or stewards felt that this would very likely result in fighting in the stand - possibly involving many more supporters than the few playing with fireworks - or the perpetrators taking their bangers with them and trying to escape across the segregation zone and into the BHA fans and thus creating a potentially much more dangerous situation than the one that existed (and incidentally one that is not particularly uncommon at football grounds around the country - there was even a flare let off at the Liverpool game as well)?Don't be a dick. To my knowledge, nobody other than CPFC fans has taken our club to task very much over their handling of the night. BHAFC are currently hiding behind the coattails of the dimwitted dishonest Sussex plod. Any failings inside the stadium are down to OUR club, who owe a duty of care to all spectators within the stadium.
Once again, don't be a dick. Time to move on is when it is publicly acknowledged that mistakes have been made and lessons have been learned. So far there's been a deafening silence from OUR club. Just won't do
Perhaps the police and/or stewards were concerned that if they tried to confront a group with an unknown number of fireworks the group would start to throw the firworks to fight off the stewards again creating a much more dangerous situation for everyone in the stand.
It is certainly arguable that doing nothing to inflame an already tricky (but not especially dangerous) situation was exactly the best way to discharge any duty of care that they may have.

The FYP chaps don’t blame our club, and they were in the away end, so I’m not entirely sure why you’re banging on about this repeatedly.

So what are YOU doing to do your part? Because whining on NSC clearly isn't useful or wanted by alot of people in here. Go do something productive with all that angst and come back with tidings of your great victories.

Yeah but he is right from where I am sat. Sussex police I expect wanted the to blow away and be forgotten. Though a palace fanzine DID get the apology they pushed for but it''s rubbish. The HF had already made their own bed without police lying. It just takes away any credibility whatsoever from the old bill and now thet have reduced the allocation again and learnt eff all

You think? The FYP FOI had absolutely EVERYTHING to do with it. It triggered the Independent investigation that forced Sussex plod to admit they'd lied. Seem to recall a post from you yesterday encouraging FYP to submit more FOI requests, come to think of it.
To refresh your mind, from the Independent article:
Five Year Plan, a Palace fanzine, had asked Chief Inspector Nelson if he had any evidence of those weapons’ existence on Tuesday, with Nelson responding that they should contact Albion “as it was their staff who found those items in the away end of the stadium.”
When contacted by The Independent, Brighton referred enquiries back to Sussex Police, saying it was a police matter.
Sussex Police, when contacted by The Independent on Tuesday, reiterated that they had recovered weapons at the scene and that they were now evidence. When pushed, they refused to publish any pictures of the ‘weapons’ or offer any proof of their existence.

Chief Inspector Nelson's tweet has now been deleted. Hours later, following further pressure, Sussex Police released the following statement:
“The reference to weapons being found discarded at the stadium following the Brighton v Crystal Palace match on November 28 was based on information logged by our officers on the night and done so in good faith.
“Subsequently, it has been established that no such items were physically recovered at the stadium or in the city. We accept that this information was incorrect and the tweet published earlier today by one of our officers was wrong.
“Sussex Police apologises to both clubs and their supporters.”

Robert Sutherland edits Five Year Plan, who pursued the story with Chief Inspector Nelson, and told The Independent:
“Crystal Palace fans are a passionate group. We are proud of our positive support. The implication that our fans would carry potentially deadly weapons into a football stadium was a smear that needed to be challenged. Football fans already have a bad reputation, often unfounded -- it shouldn't be further trashed by unsubstantiated assertions like this one.
“I am delighted that Sussex Police have apologised for their false statements. Further questions should be asked about the checks that the police force went through to establish the facts prior to making this statement. Clearly in this case, any process they should have followed failed.”

Regardless your bizarre beef seems to be with our own club. The FYP chaps, who spoke to the Albion last night (I know as my own call was put on hold whilst that happened) attach no blame to BHAFC.

FYP forced plod's hand through their FoI request. To suggest otherwise is frankly ridiculous.
And my 'bizarre beef' with the club is that they left 2,000 spectators inside the ground to self-police for 85/90th's of a match where they owed them a duty of care. The club basically washed their hands of them and left them to fend for themselves. That's inexcusable from any club, including our own.
