Mellor 3 Ward 4 - the goal highlights from Albion U-18s 2-2 draw with Fulham last weekend, when Thomas Byrne scored an 81st minute equalising penalty (his third goal in eight appearances):

U18s: Brighton 2-2 Fulham

No wonder the U-18s can't win if they give away goals like the second Fulham one (around 42 seconds) :ffsparr: and miss penalties (Danny Mandriou missed one four minutes before Byrne scored).

Or someone else who knows about the kids at the Academy.

Thomas Byrne, I think he's about 16, came over from Ireland.

Does anyone know how easy (or hard) it is to get to see his age group play?

I work with a member of his (not immediate) family, and they'd like get to see him and see how he's getting on.

Thanks.

Byrne scored his fourth goal for the club today as Albion U18s beat Swansea City 2-0 - UNDER-18s: Swans 0 Brighton 2

Has your work colleague got to see him in action yet?

Byrne is a feisty little character. He has been with the Republic of Ireland U-17 squad in Poland over the last week as they sought to qualify for the UEFA U-17 European Championship finals in Azerbaijan in May (unfortunately they missed out as they finished 3rd in their group).

Byrne was booked in each of the first two matches, meaning he missed the vital third and final match against hosts Poland.

He was also sent off in a friendly against Switzerland in March.

The FA website is also showing that he is currently serving a domestic 2-match suspension at U-18 level (which is presumably for accumulated bookings, as I don't believe he has received a red card).
