Your summary assumes that no players will ever be SOLD (or even just be released - freeing up wage commitments)

I was expecting players to be sold or released, which is what I meant by additional wages. Replacing one player on our maximum with another is OK, but replacing a second - string adds to the costs. My observation was about how small the margin is and its constraint on our spending. With a view to sustainability that is a constraint I can live with.

Good news, finally in the black, Tony’s investment was worth it.

With identical broadcasting income to us, it will be interesting to see how Fulham and Wolves fare in their first PL accounts. Given their huge spend in fees, agents fees and wages for well known internationals.

I wouldn't say less than 6% interest, IF he took all the spare cash, was a great return for the risk. That said I don't think he's looking at it that way? Hopefully as the seasons go by the squad gets stronger and more valuable and the returns increase to actually start paying back some of the capital on the loan?
