-
Virgo and Storer
-

Buckley

Everything else.

Leon Knight's pen in the playoff final 2004
Gross goal vs West Brom as first in the prem
Dean Wilkins free-kick Vs Ipswich in 2001 to get us in the playoffs
Jacob Butterfield's goal for Derby that effectively got us promoted

Has to be Hereford.

Coincidentally, goes hand in hand with the award for 'Most stomach churningly stressful 25 minutes of a football match'!

Ryan Harley's free kick.

It was an honour to be present for such a pivotal moment in history.

Oh yes - against Posh wasn't it? One of the most memorable ever Albion moments certainly (unless it wasn't against Posh and I've remembered something else instead...)

Ryan Harley free kick by a mile. End of thread.

Ignore the MORONS giving joke answers, sorry, every forum has them.

Wendy Wilkins against Ipswich stands out.

Case against Wednesday

Ward at Newcastle in 79

John Byrne against Liverpool in the Cup

I take the Robbie Reinelt point, but I’m adding in memorable ones for me.

James Virgo - the first ever 'actual' golden goal...

He made one sub appearance and we lost 2-0.
The first ever actual Golden Goal was scored by Huddersfield I think.
Are you thinking Adam Virgo v Swindon? Wasn't a golden goal, just an equaliser that took us to Pens.

um excuse me, I was there, he definitely scored in extra time. Fulham in the Paint Pots Trophy. It was either the year we went down or the year we nearly went down.

Me and about 100 others went mental on the North Stand. Might have been a few more I suppose, but it certainly wasn't packed :)

*but yes, Huddersfield scored the first ever golden goal in 1994, I just checked. Virgo's was Brighton's first and only golden goal.

Quite. Same goes for me, so my highlights are:
Willie Irvine v. Aston Villa;
Smith and Stevens at Wembley (even though I wasn't there and only watched it on tele);
Tommy F's overhead stunner at Hereford -
- and I think Sidwell at Bristol City might stand the test of time too.

Has to be Reinelt for significance, but some of my personal favourites – 'golden memories' if you like – would be:

Gary Williams' screamer v European champions Notts Forest (and Peter Shilton)
Any Wardy goal from his golden era
Case v Sheff Weds
Gordon Smith's opener to put us ahead in the Cup Final
Bridcutt volley v Carlisle ("it's the stuff of dreams ..." etc)
Buckley double v Donny
Ulloa at Forest
Skalak v QPR
Pocognoli at QPR
Solly v Wigan ("we're on our way ..." etc)
This season, Jose's crackers v West Ham and at Stoke take some beating ...

I would probably have to say Locadia's sublime injury time winner in the FA Cup final this May. Sorry, getting ahead of myself...

You're not alone. I said this very thing to Mrs Saladpack only yesterday! Plus, how poetic would it be if we stay up and win the Cup instead of being relegated and losing it like in '83? Had to explain this to Mrs Saladpack a couple of times but she eventually got my drift!

Well thank you for enlightening me, I was unaware of that. I would be gutted if I had scored and made a small piece of Albion History and it was as well hidden as that.
