With the last set of financial results and FFP constraints, it is unlikely we can spend too much money in January, certainly not on Jordan Rhodes and the like.
That's not true. The new rules are that we can lose £39 over 3 seasons, so if we were to go up, it basically wouldn't matter how much we spent in season number 1. This also matches the fact the the club were clearly prepared to pay around £8m for Pratchard. And that was before we were sitting 2nd a well clear of 3rd. I am sure there is money to be spent if the right player is available.

But is he better than what we've got?
The answer for me is 'no'. March would be just as effective in that position.

Perfect answer - If there is money available in January I think it should be spent in an area of the field or a type of player we don't have as opposed to an alternative to what we already do have. I would love Aroune Kone if he is fit but I would also offer £4m to Norwich for Pritchard. The irony of that would be bitter sweet to get him for half the price. They never did need to fill that position but we did

With the clock ticking down, this would be a great option.

Certainly better than having to recall O'Grady.
