Burnley have just belted Liverpool all over the park ....Klopp bemoaning their aggressive style , Dyche applauding some wonderfully timed tackles.......at least we know what to expect i suppose , not my favourite team to be honest , always on the cloggy side.

with that in mind Ryan

Montoya , Dunk ,Balogun , Bernardo
Solly , Kayal , Propper , Stephens , Knocky

Andone

with solly and knock getting forward as much as possible , failing that Kayal or Stephens out with Locadia up front with Andone ,

Burnely's form is woeful but we have set uo defensively most of the time away from home and can see it being a niggly , foul ridden game with probably a red and numerous yellows.

Burnley's turn for the red this week after Golden boy Gomez getting crocked by Mee.

Why anyone would want Stephens back in is beyond me, he’s been poor this season.

Propper and Stephens do not go well together. It’s one of the other. Any tiredness compared to burnley will be washed out considering they spent whole game running after Liverpool players a day later.

Ryan
Montoya
Balogun
Dunk
Bernado
Knockaert
Propper
Bissouma
March
Gross
Andone

Gross been useless away from home ever since we signed him but probably will be better with a more mobile striker.

Probably because he is the engine of our team and has proved time and time again this season top become one of the contenders for player of the season up until now. To say he has been poor is totally wrong. When fit I would expect him to be one of the first three names put on the team sheet by CH along with Ryan and Dunk.

Agree but I also think Bissouma has earned his place in the team for Saturday.

Glad it's not my call to make.

Because picking a side isn't like football manager or a fifa 11.

We are playing Burnley, an extremely physical side and our 3rd game in a week. We have different types of midfielders to use, horses for courses. Many of our players will be tired, and Stephens will be recharged.

Personally I think Propper will make way.

I also think Hughton will want to give Bong the confidence of playing against a side whose fans will give him constant stick.

FRUIT OF THE BLOOM
Stephens cant get back in the side on the back of the last 2 performances. He has to make do with a place on the bench and wait his turn.
If he wants to reset a centre mid then surely Kayal deserves another start as much as Stephens does.

Knockaert in for Izqueirdo
Andone starts for Murray.
Possibly Bruno for Montoya as the big diagonal will be Burnleys main tactic I expect.
But I would be loathed to drop him.

I think that he has confirmed his position as 4th choice CM behind Stephens Propper and Bissouma and expect his next start to be v Bournemouth in the cup.

No thank you, love the bloke but mistakes have cost us.

If we are picking on form then its Stephens who is 4th choice currently..

Really? Up until Bissouma's recent form I would say he's been our best midfielder. Unless of course you are one of these people who only upvotes midfielders based on forward runs.

Game of opinions.

I think the team picks itself
Ryan
Montoya, Balogun, Dunk, Bernardo
March, Bissouma, Propper, Knockaert
Gross
Andone

No point in risking Bruno, Jahanbakhsh or Murray

This is the team I would like to see start.

Works for me.

Great to have selection problems where there are 4 or 5 positions that probably don't weaken you if you change them.

But that's because you don't rate Kayal and it doesn't matter what he does he will always be 4th choice in you eyes. He could score a hat trick and you'd still find a misplaced pass to criticise him for.

If anything the last few games have shown how strong our squad is and how a vast majority of them will have roles to play at different points of the season depending on opponents and our schedule.

Not at all. Agreed I do not rate Kayal but must admit he has had at least one game when he played well, but not so in the others. Bissouma stepped up against Palace, Propper showed his worth in the same game and until the red card Stephens was our stand out player so that pushes Kayal to 4th choice and a valid addition to the subs bench.

Pretty scary how even with a few injuries and suspensions its still hard to pick the strongest team. New players are bedding in now and squad is looking stronger week by week. Wonder if Tony will increase the strength in squad come January?
