Right back in the day I got dragged to a Yngwie Malmsteen concert.I read somewhere once (may have been Strummer's autobiography) that guitar solos are basically musicaland that those who play them are just show offs.
With that in mind it's impossible to argue with the statement above.

Same song, almost same guitar solo. Walker Brothers version just edges it for me although Tom Rush actually wrote the song.

I'm no heavy metal fan but huge kudos to Eddie Van Halen. Just try listening to Ain't Talking About Love and not be blown away.

Got dragged kicking and screaming to a Manitas de Plata concert at the Dome in the 60s. A stunning performance that lives with me to this day, even though I'm not into flamenco.

Brilliant thread, enjoyed watching loads of the vids. Always been a bit of a metaller personally but struggle to see past JW when it comes to the guitar. This is beautiful

I'm liking the amount of random videos in this thread, sometimes a bit of NSC education can be a good thing.
