What I do know is that a strong SW flow ALWAYS beats the weakling Easterlies who hardly ever turn up for the fight in the first place. It is like Mike Tyson V Alan Carr. When we get the SW's going like we are this week, they will NEVER be budged like last year when we had constant S and SW winds from late october until mid march. The signs now are not good for snow, not good at all

Cough

The wind direction is still going to be a westerfly flow just colder air from Europe edging over for the 2 days, overall it is all SW/W as far as anyone can see

There is no cold in Europe so Xmas day looks like windy, wet and exceptionally mild, maybe the warmest on record with max temps of 14 - 15C, 57-59F. Between Xmas and New Year it will be dry, cloudy and mild with SW winds, it is true to say now, the whole of December will have a SW airflow with no end in sight, as predicted

Where did I mention anything about the wind direction ?

And again.

Just for fun really at this range, but I do have a lot of time for Gavin's updates.

Enjoy. Merry Christmas

This is actually really funny now. It is hard to see how Gav could have got it more wrong, Xmas day bitterly cold, snow showers, 0 C 32F max and it will be wet, windy and 14C 57F lol

Erm, Gav's interpretation of the run seems pretty reasonable. As he states there was little chance of it actually happening. It's the inevitable inaccuracy of the run which has led to the difference compared to the likely reality.

TLDR: *****

The point in it is the enjoyment of interpreting the information that is out there at any given time.

Nearly as embarrassing as a poster on here that said there was going to be a short cold snap on Christmas eve, what an idiot.

It will relatively, Xmas eve will be the coldest day for 3 weeks, 7 C maximum
