Otherwise known as "soft hail". Snow with a bit of a crust around the around. From memory it means it started to melt on the way down but then refroze. Had a little of that here earlier.

Actually, scratch that ... getting some graupel now. Level 1, quite fine.

Snowing in north BN1, but it all smacks a bit of Swansea's goal last Saturday. Too little, too late and not going to have any real effect

Stopped here in Uckfield, but based on the radar it appears that was just the first course. Enough to put icing sugar on top of the cars in the end. Main course is still on its way over from France. There's a long narrow band of heavier stuff approaching from the south coast that looks like it's western end will land somewhere near Brighton, and eastern end out Hastings way. As I typed, radar updated and decided it's mixed snow/rain rather than snow.

Hailsham has got this now, very fine level 1 ish
