Has he ever spoken to you again?

Surprisingly he never asked for them back, after the stunt with the back stage passes I should bloody well think so too.

We were still mates for a long while after all this but have lost touch now. He was taking Photos for the band for a while a few years ago but had finished up by the time I went to see them recently.

I saw The Cure supporting Siouxsie and the Banshees at the Brighton Centre, Robert Smith was in both bands.
Banshees guitarist dropped out at the beginning of the tour, if I remember correctly.

I saw them at BC, approx 1984/5 - Head on the Door tour. A guy wearing a pink Lyle and Scott style jumper got into a fight in the standing area; Obviously he stood quite out a bit..! :lolol:

Blimey we were watching last night and remember seeing them at Glasto back in the 80's with thunder and lightning all round the stage.

Ah, that would have been 1986; I was there too.

It was great when they played my fave Cure track, A Hundred Years, opening with the line “Doesn’t matter if we all die...” while a thunderstorm was going on right overhead. Added to the aura of Gothic doom superbly

If you like the Cure then it is worth hunting down Blue Sunshine by The Glove. I just went a-hunting for a track to post and found this, which is a new (?) version of the original track. The original had female vocals but here the song is sung by RS himself. I had never heard it before. I post also another track to give a better flavour of the original LP. My vinyl was blue :lolol:. The band was basically Robert Smith and Steve Severin of the Banshees, plus a female vocalist who was a hairdresser they met in a club (or somesuch). The album has bits of found sound, and quite a lot of it is instrumental. My favourite 'Cure' record.

Edit, youtube has a whole load of The Glove remixed with RS singing. Sorry, but I prefer the original so I am putting an original track at the top:
