6000 at Peterborough 1986 got Southampton in the next round

How can we forget Southampton 86 in the cup. Ground full except the away end. About 2.30. They were let in. Came flooding onto the East terrace like Zulus on the spion kop. Atmosphere erupted. Afterwards kin hell. Goldstone villas and all around Hove station was a battlefield. Free for all.

Remember it well, was a great atmosphere when they poured into the terrace

Anyone remember the game at reading when jimmy Quinn sealed readings promotion?

Bizarrely, I was in a Reading pub near the station that day, only Brighton fan in there (Long story) but the bloody pub got attacked by Brighton fans!! Some in fancy dress!!! Very strange afternoon. And we were shit that day on the pitch and I remember thinking going back to the station that any glazers the following week in Reading we going to be busy, as anything remotely glass (bus stops/telephone boxes/windows/etc) got put through!

Does anyone remember Aldershot away around '75.

I was a 15 year old at the time and it was my first away match with mates. Went on the football special, and when we arrived hundreds of us got off the train and a huge mob ran off down the street. There was a queue of cars waiting at the traffic lights which were soon surrounded, and one of the car drivers got spooked and tried to drive off running over a Brighton fan in the process, the car was surrounded and the driver then panicked and opened the door and terrified, ran off down the street chased by hundreds of Brighton fans. Don;t know what happened to the poor guy.

Nestling in green nowhere
Southend (near where I live these days) has always been a lively fixture. Down the years we've had someone trying to set fire to the away end, a massive off outside the foresters on the seafront (chair luzzing...they were the days) Brighton getting battered in the Kursaal ( by west ham fans that day) Brighton battering a firm of Southend on the seafront ( very recent) causing the Southen Echo to use the incident as a headline.."Football Hooligans on the rampage".

Anyone who doesn't think Brighton have a firm is deluded. The problem is there's two. There's the teenage wannabes who pogo about giving it the throat cut and then legging it (usually being escorted everywhere by ploddo) and the other which is made up of blokes in their late thirties and early forties who are the real deal but there's only about 15 of the blighters.
