No idea. I just know that, of the established ones, BoM & [A N Other, probably Wicked] are never knocked down in price. I presume due to high sales. Tickets are available, I imagine, but just not from the TKTS places that everyone seems to go to (if they can be arsed to queue). I don't suppose they'd discount new shows either, as you say, unless they'd bombed.

VYNL is great for lunch. My cousin owns this place. Musically themed and menus on LP's. Situated on 9th Avenue at 51st Street.

PLEASE visit the roof terrace bar that I always recommend. It’s actually called 230 Fifth. Situated on 5th Avenue between 26th and 27th Streets. www.230-fifth.com Absolutely stunning views across Manhattan and you’ll have the Empire State Building in your face.

And obviously I have to plug my mate Shaun's place Foleys on 33rd Street between 5th and 6th Ave. Right in the shadow of the ESB. Loads of Albion stuff in there but the memorabilia he has collected is very impressive. Many NSCers have been here.

Well hoping that tomorrow I get an email saying I've got a place in this years New York Marathon.

When there back in 2009, and had a wonderfull time, even though I was on my own. There were loads of walking tour, and bar crawls if I fancied a bit of company. Plus the locals were very friendly. I remember one chap telling me about his cousin in Shoreham.

Best experience was the day I did the Brooklyn Brewery tour, then strolled down to Barcade, to spend the afternoon playing 80's arcade games and drinking lovely US Craft Beers.

Careful with this one as I was told just the other day that it had shut down. Was one of my NY favourites too.

Went to Miami the other week and they have esta machines there now when you land. You don't even need to speak to a customs Muppet. Took about 10 minutes. Dont know if this is in place in NYC.

The new miami passport machines (great name for a band) are excellent, totally transformed probably one of the most painful US points of entry into a pleasure. Gone are the days of everyone who knew the score basically sprinting like their lives depended on it, off the aircraft, like some mad US immigration version of mike reads runaround.

Newark disn't have them when I went through a couple of months ago, no idea about JFK.

1) Walk the Highline
2) Take the Staten Island Ferry
3) Take the subway to Brooklyn, walk back into the city over Brooklyn Bridge.
4) Top of the Rock/Empire State Building to take in the views..
5) Have a Picnic in Central Park!

Wear sensible walking shoes (you’ll do a lot of it) and please forgive me but this gives me the opportunity to post this, filmed in New York exactly 1 years ago..

Yes. I did exactly the same and then went to Fetta Sau for more craft and some BBQ.

We did: Stretched Limo from JFK airport

- Broadway 'Chicago' - Helicopter Ride to Central Park - Empire State daytime - Top of Rock night-time - Staten Island Ferry - Ride around Central Park in horse n cart - Site of Twin Towers - Taxi Ride Back

- Sunny side up eggs/bacon at the Grand Central Station - Irish Pub in the pouring rain on Thanks Giving Parade :drink:

plus loads of restaurants/bars - it cost an arm and a leg for four days - Brilliant!

Highlight was the Wife and Brother in Law being escorted out of The Chrysler Building by security

Sunday March 15th v Florida. My mate has 3 season tickets so all sorted. He works for the New Yorker magazine so entertains clients. Not that night though as I've nabbed em.

The nice thing about NY, LA, Chicago etc. is that during baseball season if the Yankees happen to be traveling on the road then the Mets (the other NY baseball team) are usually playing in NY and vice versa.

True, but Yankee Stadium is way easier to get to than where the Mets play in Flushing Park. Same with the Giants and the Jets who both play at Meadowlands so they have to alternate.
