Kayal was superb tonight...again. He is a wonderful player and we are lucky to have him. He was the most obvious MOM for a while, and surely can't be dropped.

Imperious performance - so much energy and was him and Murray pressed all night.

Brilliant tonight, as he has been since he came back into the team. Put in a real shift from the start - easily PL class.

Very deserving of his new contract.

Entirely differently positions:

Stephens is a DM protecting the back 4 and passing the ball to creative players such as Kayal.

Kayal is a creative AM.

Different or not so much better having a player that passes forward , attacks. And excites .would sooner play this way and take our chances didn’t miss Stephens at all

Can't wait till we play Liverpool at the Amex, just to see Salah hanging around after the game to get Kayal's autograph.

Propper had a pretty poor game as our DM. Stephens is a specialist and usually quality in that role.

No successful team expects their DM to be a creative and attack. Just sit and protect the defence, win the ball, win duals, pass to the Kayal's of the team.

My dislike of him as a player is well known but let me say tonight he was very good

He was easily our driving force tonight and showed what a superb player he is.

Kayal showed how you should play the midfield role, streets ahead of Proper and sill running at the end. Can't see Proper playing once Stephens is back on current form.

Agreed. We said exactly the same on the way home. Stephens job of winning the ball and giving it to one of our players is all well and good but Kayal showed today what a postive, creative CM can do for a team. Having both in the side makes as much sense now as it did in the Championship and Propper will have to play himself back in when he's back, which will not be easy.

Kayal was immediately my favourite player when he arrived. I am probably his biggest fan. I love the way he plays football and keeps play moving but I'd never describe him as an attacking midfielder

he has the potential to be our engine when at the top of his game , interestingly is this the first time we have won (in the prem )without DS on the pitch ....?? Agree re propper ......needs a kick up the arse , not sure if he warrants a game or three behind muzz in a more attacking role as he does for the dutch nats. my albion mojo is pretty good this morning , commentators berating west ham and calling it a bad performance but i think we matched them and kept them at bay ....simples.
