Saw it this afternoon approaching Rugby en route to Sussex from Yorkshire. Rather underwhelmed as it only had one carriage and not much steam.

I remember standing on Fishersgate bridge, when it did it's farewell tour of Britain.

My parents ran a shop in Worthing that backed on to the railway line and I can remember it going past.

I was in Dorset over the weekend and yesterday (Monday) went from Corfe castle to Swanage and back on the Swanage railway - great fun. I'm not a fanatic, but it was great fun. Battle of Britain class locomotive called Manston, which is probably not particularly significant.

I know a great walk in the Ouse Valley that crosses the Bluebell Railway. Will be doing that to get a look from the ground.

Might bump into you. My favourite walking ground. Certainly paying a visit now I know this.

Haven't seen the Flying Scotsman since, err, we were last in Division One..

Found this today for the Flying Scotsman. Gives a number of walks that criss cross the line and has the flying Scotsman timetable as well. http://www.bluebellrailwaywalks.co.uk/
We'll be on the Scaynes Hill one with a friend's Lemon Beagle that will be trying to eat any picnics that he comes across. Be doing it tomorrow to Clear the weekend for football.

Well that's done and dusted. Saw the Flying Scotsman chug along 4 times and the Southern steam train 4 times all in the space of a couple of hours. Saw from near the Sloop Inn. Nice figure of eight walk from Scayne Hill.
Now for the football!

We drove to Horsted Keynes station today, parked for free and walked 5 mins to the lovely trackside walk and watched The Flying Scotsman come past for free! Fantastic!

Nice one Barry! Prefer steam but must admit that the big diesels such as the Deltics do have a certain something. Assume you took your videos on Friday judging by the sunshine?

Sorry, should have made clear this video is not my handiwork. Just raising awareness that tomorrow is the last day of the three-day Deltic Weekend.
These are awesome engines, but that roar is no substitute for a steam engine imo.

I am going along to the volunteer recruitment day tomorrow

Been meaning to go for ages and finally have the opportunity tomorrow.
I have no idea what I could do, nor what sort of committment I can make, but would love to be more involved.
