I'll say this though - £40 is very steep! The lady and I had a chat about the merits of just showing up and running it - I'm apparently too late to get myself a medal!

Wow that’s more than I was expecting. I was under the impression the cost was coming down as there’s no medal. I’ll still run but that’s way too much money.

Strava not letting me give run description today, i.e can't change from Morning Run. Anyone else having this problem?
Maybe they are making it premium users only?

£40 without a medal? That’s a joke surely. It was only £33 for normal entry.

I thought it was a joke as well, we had a chat about it and I suggested there's nothing stopping me showing up at the last minute, running it in 90odd minutes and not collecting a medal without having to pay the £40. If I wasn't running for a PB, I wouldn't have paid so much to enter. But, I am - so I'll bite the cost. But it is a bit much.

Yes, but got round it by using the spanner symbol that takes you to the same menu

Thanks the pencil icon next to the spanner did the trick. Looking forward to meeting you in a 5k later on now you've elbowed me down the table.

It’s not a very tempting offer, but in your case it’ll be worth it for the 1:28 on your CV!

But terrible value for Ninja Elephant at 45p a minute compared to big nuts 33p plus a medal. Mr Blobby gets a good 30p a minute plus another medal for possibly the most medalled NSC runner.

Good luck everyone and don't forget to ask Ninja how much his entry cost.

Hope everyone had a good Worthing. I made 10 miles so I'm on the start line for Brighton. Slow progress but not painful. I just wanted a few hills in as well as the flat so I ran to Hove Park along Old Shoreham Road which has got some good undulations and did a lap of the parkrun course before heading down to the seafront. Home in to the wind. I will never learn.

penny's harmonica is first to register a Worthing Half time on Strava, just dipping under 1:40 - well done that man!

Thanks. Ran in a bib with Emily scrubbed out and a big black cross to indicate I was one of the disorganised there to be rinsed and refused a medal. I grabbed one at the finish as Emily deserved it so on reflection I'm now happy with my £40 fee. Fairly conservative time for me but felt strong and now regret not pushing a bit harder. Near perfect conditions with only an annoying westerly wind to spoil an otherwise glorious day.

Others on here have clocked some very impressive times with a few pb's for good measure.

I'll run it again as it's so flat. Not a hill in sight.

Came in just under my lower expectation, so feeling pleased with myself (1:44:51). Even more pleased with my split times: I always go off fast and hang on at the end often having a 2 minute range between my fastest and slowest miles; Today there was barely 45Secs - with the first 7 miles all pretty close. If it hadn't been for the head wind on that slog out to Goring ..

I reckon all those who say you should start slower and run at a more even pace might be on to something!

Seems to have been a good day all round. I was delighted to finish in 1:41:59, well ahead of my expectations. Great conditions - how nice was it to run in the sun? - a bit windy but not too bad.

Have you all had your times sent from Worthing half yet as haven’t had anything back yet. But don’t think I did as well as those times coming up on here, felt great but went off like a steam train, I never do that normally but paid the price late on [emoji31]
