I had the cooling on for the first time a couple of days ago; with temps running in the high 90s for the last few days the house has been a little toasty in the evenings.

Isn’t this normal Summer weather? Heating goes on late October and that’s only to dry the washing.
Max outside temp here in Brighton today was 16C.
A bit of a shock after the recent 28C and more.
