Darn...

1 Burnley 46 +39 92
2 Hull 46 +32 88
3 Brighton 46 +23 85
4 Middlesbrough 46 +26 84
5 Sheff Wed 46 +21 77
6 Derby 46 +17 77

If that was how the table finished then Albion's last 5 games of the season could well be Derby, Boro, Derby, Derby, Boro.

Can we play you every week indeed.

Brighton get 17 pts from the last 9 games? Althoguh Hull get 22 pts from 10 games. really can't see that.

I think we'll do the following MKD W(3), Burnley L(0), Birmingham D(1), Forest W(3), Fulham W(3), QPR D(1), Charlton W(3), Derby W(3) and finally Boro D(1) = 18 pts and don't think Hull will get close to 22, so maybe we squeak it!

But that's with Hull winning six of their last seven, which they won't do.

Hull have scored four goals in ten games and have just drawn AT HOME against the teams in 21st and 14th place.
Why do people think they'll finish above us?
Because we keep thinking these losses in form are blips. They have a good squad and a very nice run in.

Hard to argue with this. My current prediction is that we'll finish somewhere between 2nd and 4th, with the top six having the kind of points totals that TSB indicates.

The opposite view is that one of 'Boro and Hull need a big form turnaround or we are in the box seat. I think we have been value in the market for a while now.

Accepted Hull do have the easiest run-in on paper, but you would have thought that 'Boro would have a cast iron 4 points minimum from their recent games against Rotherham and Charlton and they got sweet FA.

A lot more twists and turns before this beauty of a season is over...

They do need to turn it around, but there's every chance they can. We'll be in 3rd at the end of Friday, so not quite the box seat.

I think we have been value in the market for a while now.
Maybe, but that doesn't mean we should be shorter odds than Hull or 'boro. We have a lot of tough games.

Yes we expected 'boro to do better, and yes there will be more twists to come.

I'm still delighted by last night's two results, but the truth is we're still likely to miss out on the top two places.

My predictions remain the same. Go to the wire when we have to beat Boro and hope Burnley slip up and only draw their last home match.

Hull v Boro down as a draw and a win at MK Dons does not change anything. And we've got to win all our home games.

We've got top pick up two points from somewhere. I've got us down as a loss at Birmingham, so maybe there? Still have beat Boro though. But that's a sporting chance.

Leeds, Bristol City and Rotherham at home. That's five tough games out of ten.
How are those 3 games tough? Just because Leeds and Rotherham have had a couple of good results doesn't suddenly make them tough games.
