People talking of Cairney when he could be playing in the PL next season with his current club, perhaps even without us, or even more morbidly - at our expense

But it won't be that simple, competing with:

M'boro
Sunderland
Swansea, Palace or Hull

The current deal has a relatively low minimum release fee clause. They are trying to offer him a bit more per week in order to raise the clause value. Seems like they are resigned to him leaving in the summer.
