Too hot to work law?

For the first time in 20 years, we shut our office early (3.30pm) yesterday and went home. Nobody was doing anything worthwhile as it was too uncomfortable.
I do understand the 'man up', 'just get on with it' comments, and we absolutely could have done, but if no work is getting done anyway, what's the point?
Hoping it has set a sensible precedent.
What do Crisps Monster and Noise Machine make of the heat?

Shouldn't be a problem today....as i type plenty of thunder in Shoreham..oh and an attempt at rain 
NM has coped admirably, in fairness. She's a Brownie leader - Brown Owl
and loves all the drama of working with the lights off, daily bottled water deliveries, and general EXCITINGNESS of it all.CRISPS has been away on holiday for the last SIXTEEN days (seriously, its like EVERYONE gets a holiday, with only her using up her leave quota. Bliss) and is back in today. Pending.
