Evans was on the commentary the other week, said he had pulled a hamstring and was hoping to be back soon. Either the injury has not healed or in his absence he has lost his place.

All teams bar 1 chose to bat first, but wickets falling early doors.

Middlesex 2-2, Kent 6-2, Northants 18-1, Derby 1-1.

Looks like an even contest between bat and ball in Division 1, but ball completely dominant in Div 2 so far.

(Apart from Ben Duckett who somehow has 74 off 54 balls).
