She's up against a Hastings boy - a homeboy like me - that's all.
That wasn't a comment on the Tories (and I'm not anyway as explained ad finitum on here), more on a certain type of Brightonian who seems to feel the need to shout as loudly as possible "Look at us - we're REALLY different!!!1!!" as often as possible.
And I say that as someone who absolutely adores Brighton.

Nancy Platts was an excellent candidate.
Instead of putting more resources into winning that marginal seat, Labour put a lot of effort into unseating Caroline Lucas - and it backfired. Twice over.

Me being one (although I've done a vote swap with a Labour supporter for Caroline).
I'm not convinced it's sufficient although I so hope to be wrong.
I remember Morgan's rant at Green voters in 2015. He didn't respond when I suggested that if they hadn't tried to unseat Caroline we would have looked with more favour.
Despite saying they are properly contesting Pavilion the lad they have in there is placed for experience.
Hove is interesting. I know folk like Kyle but I see it as New Labour territory so I worry a lot are not well disposed towards Corbyn.
Dunno without trying, and I haven't yet. It's William Hill if you're interested.

I don't where you've read that: every single opinion poll has the Tories in the lead and nearly every single paper (from left or right) has predicted a Tory majority. The one exception was a piece in the Independent that thought there'd be a hung parliament ... but that's now stepped back in line and predicts a 74 seat majority

I don't see any shame in the three B&H seats being historical swings. In fact I think it's brilliant that we actually get an individual say in our representatives. It must be so dull, politically, to live in Islington or Henley.
But I'd agree that the sneering at anyone who votes differently in other parts of the South is crass and a little pathetic.
What about the students (mainly newcomers to the city) who've rushed to register? The final bribe was McDonnell mentioned at the weekend about somehow cancelling all historical student loans full stop. Might be a lie but a vote winner if ever there was one - imagine if a party promised to pay off one third of your mortgage capital balance, if in government.
Both the Oxford English and Collins English dictionaries include the term, and they each also have a definition which suggests they, at least, think it means something.
"A person who espouses socialist ideals while enjoying a wealthy and luxurious lifestyle" and "a professed socialist who enjoys an extravagant lifestyle" in case you're wondering.

Just a few hours till the polls open - anyone else still in a quandary?
Not much of choice is it? I can't recall a time with such a dearth of political talent and lack of inspirational vision in any party.
I have always voted, happily and decisively, but for the first time ever I am a total loss as to what to do.
Only 4 candidates standing in my constituency: Conservative, Labour, Lib Dem and UKIP.
Labour I discount immediately. I wouldn't be adverse to voting Labour under different circumstances, but I can't endorse Corbyn and McDonnell. Similarly, no way will I vote Lib Dem or UKIP. So that leaves the Conservatives.
Again, I wouldn't be adverse to voting Conservative - it is probably the natural home for my vote. But they have run an appalling campaign in a totally unnecessary election called purely for Mrs May's benefit and not the country's. Put simply, I don't believe they deserve my vote this time so why should I give it to them.
I can't NOT vote, so hence my being at a total loss. I still believe a 'spoilt' ballot 'is the best way I can register my complete exasperation with this whole sorry state of affairs. And for me, that is a crying shame.
Maybe I'll have a moment of clarity on my way to the polling station tomorrow morning and find myself able to make a positive choice, but time is running out...

In just over 24 hours the fun will all begin with the exit polls being published to a waiting nation and it becomes very much "game on" for those who have plans to go through the night and see the drama unfold.
As I get older, I struggle more with these now so for the first time ever I'm contemplating trying to see if I can get a couple of hours sleep before kick-off.
I'm also questioning whether my usual approach to drink my way through is wise. Maybe I'll have greater endurance if I steer clear of the booze.
I'll eat my body weight in crisps though. That's a given.
Who's planning to go through the night, or most of it, and what is your plan of attack?
