The Everton connection may be overstated, and their fans and journalists are totally underwhelmed to say the least. Without Lukaku, they want Belloti of Torino (sorry to mention that name), Llorente or Batshuayi. They're gutted that they might instead only acquire Zahore for Everton's U23 squad:

Does this leave the door open for TB if he's prepared to invest in this one? The £30m fee may well be transfer window exaggeration. Wood's £15m gives a Championship benchmark. Vincent Tan and Warnock being ********s if that's what they're mooting.

And that £12 mill gamble is more of a gamble than the £13 million deal we were prepared to pay for Dwamena who played 6 months and 23 games for a Swiss league 1 side how?

A 21 year old striker who's never played in the UK. Of course it would have been a massive gamble even for the more widely reported £10m.
And likewise for Mounie.

Mounie scored 14 Ligue 1 goals last season, at age 22. It may not be the Bundesliga, but there's a lot of money and quality in that division, making that a good return I reckon and on paper far less a risk than many an overeas transfer.

Agreed he looks a good prospect, and obviously he's already off the mark but he's still relatively unproven.
As for comparisons to the Albion and what they should/should have done instead, its all a bit premature until our striking line up is complete and we're a lot further into the season.

This one isn't happening unless something drastically changes as £30 million for a player whose had half a good season isn't happening. I believe we have moved on from this a week or so back. Club know who they want...

Mental.

Clubs may make an extra £100mill from the Prem but it soon pisses out the door and into someone else's pocket.

£30m is just Cardiff seeing how far they can push us. The last few days of the transfer window almost becomes like poker. Cardiff obviously want to sell him otherwise they wouldn't be making public statements about his transfer value.

Thank god we've got Bloom.

I've got a feeling Zahore is going to be a Brighton player come friday,

Okay, I'll say it now, based purely on an idea of the way the transfer window works and no inside information whatsoever. We will sign an international striker on loan from another Premier League club shortly after that club brings in a new player for shedloads of money.
