Planned to join TCB and co at Bevendean but a prang on the 23 at Patcham meant we crawled through and only just made Preston Park. Was ambitiously aiming for the 22 mark but stitched near the end and ended up 22.26. Previous best 22.27 at Worthing so it's progress.

Any tips for not getting a stitch on a morning run? Seems to be a regular occurance 4k down. Never really know whether to eat or drink in the morning, half a banana and a cup of water this morning obviously didn't work!

Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

Saw the prang on my way down to prom marshalling duties. Car and a minibus full of kids. Hope everyone was ok - car was on the central reservation facing the wrong way.

If it's possible to enjoy a road 10k this one comes closest for me. Flat first mile then a 2 mile slog up to Grove hill then turn and give it some beans on the 3 mile downhill to the finish. I normally run it but was too late entering this year. I'll try to head along at the finish. Good luck

21:56 at a flood altered Eastbourne park run today. My times aren't improving much but I'm much happier with my race management as kept a fairly consistent pace all the way.
Thanks for the advice will try and hold back to put in a good finish.

Patience is key in any event, knocky1 and I were talking about marathon pacing during the run this morning. I really think you want to hold back for two thirds of the race and then unleash the pay load in the final third. That's the business end. It's just so hard to do, to run at other than immediate pace from the start.

Maybe Ninja Elephant could do a table for every individual Sussex Parkrun and we could find out the par times.:)

I reckon Bevendean is a +2 minutes.

Had to give up watching the Albion game live on tv last night (10pm kick off here) so that I could get a decent nights sleep before the 10K race this morning. Official finish time was 37:05, which is only 10 seconds off my PB and the second fastest I've run a 10K, so I'm pretty happy with that. Even happier to then come home and watch us win 3-1! :albion2:

Can we have a couple of Australian parkruns on there with a handicap of -10 minutes due to the ridiculously hot and humid summer temperatures that are fast approaching? :lolol:

Ran Littlehampton 10k this morning, a very nice course and well supported. The wind picking up for the East to West run in didn't help but managed a second PB in 8 days with 39:10 and 21st Place.

Next race Barns Green in 2 weeks.

Could someone update the table for me please.

As a minion, of the Super Egos, I have done that for you, Sir.
I think we need the Super Egos to have a NSC Challenge. Can't you all set a date for an October Parkrun? PBs, SBs and times are all well and good but I want to see a race. Saw Graham Gooden fight valiantly for first place at Hove Park yesterday but although he gained on the winner he failed by a second.

We are obviously very closely matched but, just like our PBs, you have the edge on me as I ran a 24:24 at Bevendean this morning. Jesus Christ, I've never run anywhere like that. The conditions weren't too bad to be fair, the problem was me (a person with minimal hill running experience) being met with an absolute monster of an incline. My friend won it with a time that was just over two minutes off his PB, so I will console myself with the fact I wasn't too much more off mine, suggesting that wasn't too far off a par time for someone of my ability on that course. But it certainly wasn't pretty! Despite the hill, I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it as it's a bit different to normal. I'd like to do it again now I know what to expect as I think I could pace it more efficiently.

We'll done on the time, we are very evenly matched. I smashed my PB the week after Bevendean, hopefully you do the same. Would like another crack at that hill myself, soon.

Got to say you weren't wrong, that was a great event. The sun shone, scenic country roads, enjoyed the challenge of the uphill section. Can't say it felt like going downhill in the few kilometres, seem to undulate.
Tried to start out easy as all the advice, didn't exactly bomb home but didn't get passed at all in the second half. End outcome new PB by 3 minutes in 47:11.
One for the table knocky/ninja elephant.

Sure, can do. For my sanity, which ones are we including?

Hove Park, Preston Park, Peacehaven, Worthing, Bevendean - others to be included?

I'm going to sound like a right 'super ego' the only Park Run in October I can do is the 21/10 and I'd need to ideally run Preston Park. At a push Hove Prom or Park but would have to leave immediately.
