I might buy it and open a little sports shop, selling only PROPER gear - Gray Nicholls cricket bats and pads, Dunlop green flash and Adidas Stan Smith's, and row upon row of black football boots with white trim.

Nice sentiment ...

But that sort of strategy just might end up going out of business ..... Oh !

Why would anybody wish to open a business that will eventually lose money.

That all depends on how much surplus money you have. I love the idea of being so rich that i could run my own business, doing what i wanted to do, without profitability really coming into it. Just because i could.

Even wealthy people dont do that other than by buying a football club or racehorse where you can make a small fortune but it may cost a large one to do that. It would be a great position to be in as I have always said if I won the lottery I would buy a restaurant and be happy if it made £1 per week net profit.

That is totally going to end up on some sort of property porn show once it's been bought by some rich, trendy Brighton types and pimped the hell out of.

Nothing wrong with sentiment and nostalgia. After the typing that post, I went shopping at lunch and bought a whole pack of Wagon Wheels.

Have you considered Dragons Den? It sounds like just the sort of business pitch they'd be wetting themselves over.

Sorry BG - forgot you know it all, including what other people would or wouldn't do in any given situation.

Bit surprised it got permission for conversion to residential. Some serious pollution issues there.

I'm glad this didn't get planning permission.

If you could somehow convert all the NO2 to N2O you'd be laughing.
