Replacing the social housing that's been sold off, re-nationalising the railways and royal mail, investing in the NHS - These are not the policies of a far left loon, maybe people will see through Corbyn's media portrayal, maybe not though.

It would (will) astonish me that anyone living in Brighton would think the bringing the railways back in to public ownership isn't a good idea.
Bloke on the wireless this morning said much the same thing.

'In insolation these individual policies are what people really want.
Just maybe not when they're all put together under a socialist banner'.

Labour - can't see it happening.
Tories - Cannot stand that it's happening.

It's a tough one.

I'd put the blame on Capitalism .

And I wouldn't expect anything less.

Socialist government is riddled with corruption on an unprecedented scale, they run a command economy but fail to diversify and get it spectacularly wrong, replace democracy with a dictatorship and it's the fault of capitalism. Strange how the Brazilian and Mexican economies haven't tanked so spectacularly.

Oh well, I suppose renationalising the trains would mean that Jezza would be guaranteed a seat.
Maybe as 'Chairman Jezza' , he would warrant a whole carriage to himself and his flunkies.
Good old socialism in action!

Venezuela's very poorest have lost about 19 pounds in weight on average in the last year. Inflation is expected to reach 2000% and Maduro's answer to this is complete oppression and the suspension of any semblance of democracy. The government have killed 37 protestors since the beginning of April and imprisoned 2000 more. The carcasses of cats, dogs, anteaters and flamingos are being found around the country as some Venezuelans are taking to eating them in desperation. Remember that this was South America's richest country in 2001. They've almost run out of money now.

Socialism. It's all a bit shit really.

I think you are referring to corrupt government rather than socialism itself.

JC wants free education and free parking at hospitals. May wants to hunt foxes and make the rich richer. It's such a tough call...

Because they're the only issues aren't they

Everyone knows that free parking at hospitals is undeliverable. Parking is either outsourced or tied into PFI, usually on long contracts. In both cases you can't just get out of the contract so they would have to directly pay whoever owns/runs the car park until the contract runs out.

I suspect this will be a common theme throughout jezza's manifesto.

If the Jezza brigade got hold of power and actually attempted to carry out out their 'leaked manifesto' pledges, the country would be crippled by huge taxes, vast borrowings , militant unions and no doubt plagues of locusts, looking for a free meal.
Does anyone really believe that the likes of Corbyn, McDonnell and Abbott are capable of running this country?
Ruining it, yes, but not running it.

In a leaking fo the Labour draft manifesto. Also covered briefly on Newsnight tonight.

Taken from the guardian:

It's unlikely to happen, but in my opinion education that was:

Would be an incredible step for this country.

Not a Corbyn fan really, but looks like we're at least being offered a CHOICE this election.

The bulk of these policies quoted look to me like long term noble aims for the benefit of the many. But that degree of change would need to be incremental and implemented over the course of many parliaments. Bundling them all up into a single manifesto just risks Corbyn being laughed out of town and accused of uncosted flights of fancy. It doesn't help when Diane Abbott has already been publicly humiliated as being no good at sums.

Socialist government is riddled with corruption on an unprecedented scale,.

Governments across the globe (all partys) are generally riddled with corruption, to single out socialist governments is a bit unfair? ???

We appear to be looking at complete opposites in the choices being offered by the 2 main parties. If only there was a 3rd option offering the best bits from each. Now that may well be worth voting for

Sadly this is all that's on offer: Tim_Farron_2016_(cropped).jpg

No, I don't think so. The socialist experiment in Venezuela has failed and is directly responsible for the food shortages, the hyperinflation and a rapidly shrinking economy. The oppression is just this particular government trying to cling onto power, it's not the cause of the desperate need for food, it's a symptom of it.

Okay. Let's take the corruption out of the equation with this Venezuelan government. As I posted just now, the food shortages, the hyper inflation and complete mismanagement of their economy would still have occurred.

All the more breathtaking a failure when you consider the vast reserves of oil they're sitting on.
