Perhaps we have found our No 3 batsman but lets not talk too soon.,

You rather hope that the England Management sat Bairstow down and said 'You are a good but not world class wicketkeeper, Foakes is our man in that position. You are, however, a better Test batsman. If Foakes gets injured then we may well offer you the gloves temporarily, but in reality you are a world class top order batsman and that is where we are going to play you from now onwards.'

Or something like that.

He has opened the batting at many levels so if an opener goes cheaply, which is very likely with our openers, he can hold the wicket well.to stabilise us to build a reasonable total

Just watched the highlights reel on BBC. Didn't just do well, they mullered them! Took the last 8 Indian wickets for just 23 runs

Women's World T20 Semi Final Highlights

I watched that passage of play and was impressed by England's fielding and the wicket-keeping. Three run-outs is impressive. They actually look quite athletic too.

Stokes strikes... Mathews pulls at one and it looks like it has ballooned through to Foakes

200-4 but being reviewed... looked out to me.

Stokes to Mathews, OUT, has that carried to Foakes? A superb catch if he's got that. Mathews isn't moving, as he awkwardly attempts a pull. They're going upstairs. Soft signal is out. Front foot is fine, now to spin vision. It's off the toe end of the bat. That's a blinding catch by Foakes. Wonderful foot movement and dives forward to get his massive mitts under it. A huge wicket and the plan has worked
AD Mathews c †Foakes b Stokes 5 (7b 1x4 0x6) SR: 71.42
