Just been speaking to a pompey supporting colleague and he is just shaking his head saying "this is what you get when you let supporters run the club". He feels they never should have sacked Whittingham in the first place and let him grow into the job. He actually wouldn't be averse to them going down as it should give everyone the required kick up the arse.

Barker was sacked by Crawley Because the owners and supporters realised he was actually a shit manager.

Crawley have had their season of local derbies with pot less. as HKFC said unless you want to big up the pompey massive then please refrain from posting meaningful posts on this thread.

You have had your money from Portsmouth, its time to let Eastleigh and Salisbury get their claim to fame next season, then the season after Havant & Waterlooville , Eastbourne, Whitehawk, Peacehaven and the mighty Wealdstone can have their pop at pompey.

I for one am looking forward to

Would it though? You would think being third from bottom of the FORTH Division plus two consecutive relegations and all the other saga's re the ownership would be some kind of wake up call. When you read stuff about them 'wanting to push the financial boat out' to get Jamie O'Hara plus *many* of their fans claiming the job was too big for Barker, it just confirms how deluded and out of touch with reality many of them are. Reading the stuff on the News Website is flabbergasting.

If they do sign O'Hara, maybe Leon Knight can come out of retirement to link up with his old chum? They could be roommates on away trips. Leon Knight and Pompey? A marriage made in Heaven......

"Pompey push boat out financially"

Is this going to be their new club MANTRA

This boat? I think we should lobby Portsmouth City Council to change the name to HMS Another Dismal Defeat.

Portsmouth going down and Eastbourne Borough being promoted could be brilliant !! Go from playing league games at Old Trafford to Priory Lane within 4 years - brilliant

Of course their AMAZING fans will stick by them in the non-league too !!

Sad, sad news. It seems they couldn't agree terms with Wolves for O'Hara. Not sure if this means Wolves simply laughed in their face.

I'd have thought Jamie would happily have WALKED to Fratton Park, for FREE, just to have the chance to play for Those Amazing Fans again.

It says a lot for Pompey then, considering the last game of last season.

But sadly, on one of the blackest days in Wolves’ history, there was no dignified exit for this deeply disturbed club. There are no two more toxic figures associated with the decline than Jamie O’Hara and Roger Johnson.

And once Wolves fans were convinced O’Hara had given up the ghost after they thought he had taken too long ambling back into position and he responded by appearing to sarcastically put his thumb up, an atmosphere which was a strange mix of carnival and funereal turned angry.

The £5m midfielder was booed every time he touched the ball, and even Brighton supporters joined in, singing ‘You stupid b******s, you’ve let your fans down’.

The home support even turned on Johnson after he lumped a cross hopelessly out of play. When the final whistle sounded, O’Hara, his head clearly ‘gone’, turned his back on the fans and was first off the pitch.

Oh dead, oh dear, oh dear.
Not even a player hated by his own team's fans can get out and join Pompey.
