Ah but McGill is now U23, along with Keto and Collings (and presumably Steele/Button every so often)

At U18 we have Rees, Zalewski, Bentley and now this fella Hynek.

Bentley played for Worthing the other day so I assume he's either left or is on loan/work experience there again.

Brighton article now online, sounds like a decent enough performance but a sloppy ending.

Goal from mystery trialist.

https://www.brightonandhovealbion.com/news/2018/august/u23-report-fulham-2-albion-1/

Brighton team: ALBION: Keto; Collar, Barclay, Roberts (Kerr 74), Tomlinson (Moore 57); Sanders, Normann (Radulovic 79); J.Davies (Trialist 63), Mandroiu, Tilley (A.Davies 65); Connolly (Ljubicic 89).

Interesting that 16 year old Haydon Roberts started as CB ahead of some of the older lads. Squad is looking substantially changed from the all-conquering team at the end of last season, with Gyokeres playing with the first team, Mateju, Alzate and Sanchez on loan, Cox recovering from surgery and following the departure of Bjordal and Dallison. Will be interesting to see if the new lads can step up in PL2 Div 1, it may take a little while so don't expect immediate results.

The report mentions that Albion play Forest on Monday. That must mean it will be an U-18 line-up for the Sussex Charity Shield fixture against Haywards Heath on Tuesday (maybe dictated by the fact that Albion's first U-23 league fixture, against Liverpool, is on the Friday).

Here are pictures of the trialist who scored today against Fulham - looks Scandinavian:-

A mate mentioned that there was a Dane on trial with us. Had a quick look and found this:

Top detective work!

"One of Vejle Boldklub's great talents gets the chance to show off in England.

The only 18-year-old striker Jonas Andersen has thus been released from training at the Superliga runners to try out in the Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion. He will be there until August 7th.

It writes Vejle Boldklub on their website.

Brighton Hove & Albion ended in the last season as number 15 in the best English series. In the English club Andersen must work with the club's A-squad / U23 team, announces Vejle Boldklub.

Andersen has not yet received Superliga debut for Vejle Boldklub, but last season there were eight matches in the 1st division."

If we signed him, we'd have an Icelander, a Norwegian, a Dane, a Swede and a Finn. That's the full set (unless we can find a top Faroese talent lying around somewhere)!

Website saying the Forrest game is a behind closed doors friendly at the Lancing training ground, however no time mentioned.

Will try and get to the Sussex Charity Shield instead.

Does anyone know how and when the locations for the Everton, Benfica and Bayern Munich games are selected.

Forest game finished 0-0.

Interesting line-up, with a number of U18s (Roberts, Tolaj, Wilson) and an U16 (Everitt) involved. Trialist Jonas Andersen played 45 mins.

Notably also, no James Tilley. Injury? Loan move lined up?
