That's an interesting one, when we went down in 83 what would people have said if you'd predicted the day we returned to the top flight it would be nearly £5 a pint, and the club would get £100million TV money.

On bluemoon its states that Man City were relegated in 1983 despite having gone on a 4 year spending spree of £5m in transfer fees. In 2017, just one example, Raheem Sterling is paid £9m a year by Man City.
