Any news on Bissouma and Bernardo? Feels like the have the potential to become "out for longer than expected" candidates. Would have hoped both were back in training by now. Skip the FA Cup and be ready for Fulham?

Soon after that Matty Ryan and Ali J will be back to boost the squad - could be perfect timing if B&B are just carrying twinges.

Next likely update will be spotting if Bissouma is involved in tuesdays photo gallery from training. According to ch he should be.

Pre - West Brom

Bissouma [hip] - Obviously training return has been delayed but Hughton says he is training today [Thursday] and will be available and presumably playing v West Brom.

Bernardo [hamstring] - "set to resume training tomorrow [Friday]" but not likely to feature v West Brom. Presumably being kept for Fulham

Izquierdo [knee] - not available . still not training. Last update from Jose himself suggested he would return to training at end of this month. Social media pix sees him out and about in London etc looking well so lets see.

Connolly [hamstring] - out for a "couple of months"

Ryan, Ali J - in Asia Cup. potentially until Feb 1st - the date of the final. Quarter finals for Iran - Thursday 4pm. For Australia Friday 4pm.

Pre - Fulham

Bissouma (hip) - played against West Brom. Fit and playing again.

Bernardo (hamstring) - “he’s very close. We’re anticipating that he will train on Thursday”

Ryan (Asia cup) - “ Ryan trained with Ben Roberts yesterday and with the squad today (Monday)” - being considered for Fulham

Izquierdo (knee) - not training, no update.

Bong - missed WBA as a precaution. Not injured.

Steele - minor injury so missed WBA. I read detail of it in the Argus but don’t have it to hand. Anyone confirm ?

Ali J (Asia cup) - semi final today v Japan, final on Friday. Back for WBA replay ?

Happy to bet you a non-alcoholic beer that the verdict of the consideration is "Ryan starts".

I’m not taking your bet. :) Hughton even said about whether he’s tired - “he’s used to the travelling”. Sounds like he got the plane back to Gatwick whilst he still had his kit on.

Update on Jose

Izquierdo (knee) “we are hoping he will be training next week (4-8 Feb). He is doing some good [rehab] work at the moment. All we are doing is making sure we follow the correct pathway . Sometimes with particular injuries, if you bring them back too early they are going to be out for a longer period . In the recovery, everything has gone well, there have been no setbacks, but we we’ve been told to take it slower”

Is this a recurrence of the injury he had in the summer? A little worrying if so, he was out for quite a while last time and has hardly played this season.

Current Status : Spurs press conference

Gross [ankle] - Out for Spurs. Post Saints he said about the injury that "it’s not one that is going to keep him out for a number of games"
Izquierdo [knee] - In training. "could come into contention"
Andone [thigh/groin] - In training. "could come into contention"

Hughton said about both Jose/Florin - "they are ones we'll have to make decision on this week. Neither have had first team minutes aside from friendlies but they're in good shape at the moment...but [would be] big call for either to start"

Rest of squad: All fit....

Means we won't see any of them before Christmas

I think we should have a “banned from the thread” rule for that tired old and baseless quip but well tried Ernie. !!

But Ernie was 33% right though, wasn't he?

The World Cup would seem to be a bit of a player killer.
The England squad aren't exactly 'world beaters' this season.

This is all getting very ominous, I fear we've been down this particular path before.. he's close... still close....very close....

The Argus jumped the gun with the "Set to resume" quote (which is where that comes from). . Hughton's quote was more cautious.. Hughton was accurate with , for example Bissouma's return this Saturday and the other dozen or so returns on time this season which get handily forgotten about when fretting about this sort of stuff.
