Has anyone tried to predict our points from games till end of the season? and again for our competitors. I remember seeing something on here but not sure of detail..

I can't see us getting anything against Spurs or Chelsea, so a minimum target of 3 points from the games against Huddersfield, Burnley and Watford. That will take us to 20 points half way through the season and with the January transfer window available to strengthen the squad. Carry on in the same vein will take us to 40 points by May.

Obviously, and hopefully, I would want more than just 3 points but the team looked tired and jaded in the matches against Palace and Liverpool. I just hope we're not entering a mini-slump as we're about to play teams of "equal status", where it's imperative that we get something.

I feel I am being a bit pessimistic, but I reckon 5. We do need to beat at least one of Burnley, Huddersfield and Watford and not lose to the other two.

Just 1 lonesome point so far.

Reckon the rest of December will be much better.

Projection revised to 8.

Is there a reason why we would have played both of our games with Watford before playing our first with Chelsea?
Just would of thought we played all 19 teams before starting the second part of the season.

The reason is that the person who does the fixtures (and it is mostly just one person) works most of the fixtures out with the help of a computer programme but does the Boxing Day fixtures separately, based on clubs' requests, travelling distances etc. So they are a bespoke set of fixtures rather than just the next ones up. if you waited to play a club twice before you'd played everyone once, there'd be one blank week.

Quadrupled our December points today.

Still on for 8 points from these games.
