Name a single player who’d appeal for the ref to reverse that? That’s also wrongly assuming that any ref would reverse their decision anyway. Sterling bashers love any reason

He was avoiding contact and possible injury.
I have no doubts in my own mind about him as a player and his honesty and desire to score goals and play the game properly.
He's a great runner with the ball, he's very brave, he takes people on and he goes into areas where there are bodies and it hurts players to go in.

He fell over his own boot and some turf!

What was he avoiding... a worm?


Of course it's rubbish and I doubt he tripped over a worm. I was just giving an example of the pathetic reasons usually given nowadays to excuse diving.
