... because the deal was done and we knew it was. He was recalled from his loan because we had no players left and to give him his hurrah. We were all sad to see him leave, he was just unlucky. He left with everyone knowing two things;
1) He was a good player who would become even better with gametime and,
2) It would be used as a stick to beat Gus with, despite everyone knowing there wasn't another reasonable option.

Agree on all fronts. Remember saying at the time, just an unfortunate set of circumstances of a talented young player (rightly) wanting the game time to develop at a crucial point of his career - and we simply couldn't guarantee it at that moment in time.

You can't believe paper figures. The paper I read said up to £2M.
I think that we would get 30%.
£600K would be handy...... hopefully it will go towards recruitment rather than reducing FFP loss.
