Recently when i try an connect to the old internet my laptop is not recognising my internal modem at all, ie it doesn't reach the stage where you can here the dialling tone. How can i fix this because i fancy downloading some lesbian porn later.

see you need more info than this.

It can be for a number of reasons from a knackered modem to a faulty setting in the network connection.

Go do a direct connection through the DUN (Dial Up Network Connections).

If its xp this is start/mynetwork places see if you get a connection with the net through that.

Sounds like your modem driver has died, I would suggest you reinstall it.
